Got in 2 innings before the kids kicked me off. Ha. It’s an improvement and you can tell they put a lot of effort into the game but at its core it’s still RBI baseball.

I played a couple of games this morning. Here are the good and the bad:

The Good:

• The pitching motions & batting stances look incredible. Even better than MLB The Show
• The graphics are much improved from a couple of years ago, same with player models
• The stadiums look good and the game is a nice fun pick-up-and-play game
• Simple controls - nice rosters. 25 players with about 10-12 "reserves" in the minors.

The Bad:

• All other animations are either non-existent or terrible
• Button response time on defense is so bad that I had to turn on auto-fielding
• Not only does it take like 5 mins to load a game (XBO), but there is like a 20-25 second loading screen between innings
• While the models are improved, they still are not great. Heads seem weirdly attached.
• The sound is terrible.

For a game that is supposed to be a quick pick and play type game, that is really bad. Seems like a game killer if they can’t patch that.

I might pick up the iOS version - hopefully it won’t have the same issues.

Sounds feel like a pick up and play game as much as before. I was getting smoked on rookie.

Is it hard to see the ball at times or is it me?

The load between innings is what turned me off most about the game last year. I looked at a couple of youtube videos and the load into game and between innings did not seem to be what was reported earlier. It didn't seem that bad to me.

First thing out of the gate I noticed was the terrible long loading times as well, the loading before and during the game is terrible.

The ball is difficult to pick up on.

I think I will try Auto fielding as well.

Graphics are okay but not great. Player models still aren’t great. Stadiums look just okay. I do enjoy the music in game and between innings. Gameplay is very good. Defense is tough to get use to. I am enjoying difficulty at medium at this point. Loading times are still there but I like MLB overlay at bottom of screen and franchise is a good addition. It’s a start. Now MLB the Show is 1000 times better but to me this is now best Xbox One baseball game that has promise.

Does anyone have release date for iOS? ...FROM THE VIDEOS I have seen the pitcher vs batter
camera angle is much better and even the the camera in play has the gamer more involved in the play rather than the old view from the bleachers high above home plate.

This game feels like a PS1 title or early PS2 title that has upgraded graphics and rosters - and that's not a bad thing. It's fun and good for kids without being too complex. I am enjoying it.
