I am a big ASB fan even with it's glitches. It allowed me to micro manage rosters for all 30 teams and make them as realistic as I possibly could. I enjoyed the gameplay and extras such as mascots and real time scoreboards. I'm having a hard time getting into the upcoming baseball titles especially since I have a PS2. I'm debating getting one of the new titles or figuring out a way to continue updating ASB05. The Intellivision and its MLB version sitting in a box in the basement is even looking good right now.

Re: Very depressed over no All Star Baseball and shrinking selection

I love asb 05, I'm in my second season of my A's franchise and cant get enough of this game. I'm not going to be buying a new basseball game for a very long time. I'm very content and happy with asb 05. It has the best stadiums, best commentary, waiver wire, salary aribtration.

Sure it has its faults.. but i for one dont need up to date rosters to enjoy a baseball game. The one thing that bothers me about the game is that they set up the default fielding to be fielder cam. Since i dont use it sometimes when I'm fielding a ball it will jump into default mode and zoom in on the ball and ive lost more than my fair share of no hitters because of it not knowing where my fielders were.

I plan on playing this game for many yrs to come. I hope to become a true dynasty in this game. Taking my team to the world series and winning it as many times as i can. In my first season I lost to the Yankees in the ALCS in 6 games. It was the first time that id ever NOT made and won the ws since sierra's baseball pro 96 game. This year im hoping to take out the yankees in the playoffs and land in the world series and win it.

for those of you that dont already know about my chise asnd would like to follow it you can go to the dynasty hq section of the board and go to my "follow my 2005 A's franchise" thread and keep up on my team or just click on my link in my sig.

I plan on keeping this franchise running for many seasons and years to come. To all of you that will be playing MVP or 2K5 this year, I wish you all the luck in the world in your chise's.

Ah F' it. I loved All-Star baseball, and since its doubtful anyone will ever do the expansion mode thing, my beloved Virginia Admirals will march into the future on ASB 05.

Theres alot of hype coming into this season...the new stadium is finally built, and with the aquisition of Sosa, the town is buzzin'

(BK, I thought you liked ASB a bit this year...)
I did. The Expansion mode, and the depth of the franchise was un-matched by any game. Ultimately the I found the batter/pitcher interface to be it's undoing and just couildn't "stay" in to the game because of it.

ASB 05 is one of my favorite sports games of all times, and I wish they had a game this year. I too did the expansion mode and I'm upset my Carolina Aviators wont be in next years game.

You only played with them for about 10 games anyway, so it's not that big of a deal.

from one Cub fan to another, i'd just suggest staying with ASB 05 for the time being and if possible, trying one of this year's entries to see if there's something you like. My recommendation's MLB 06 though, good stuff.

nah I played that game way more than you think. I finished a season with Oakland, 2 with San Diego, and one with the Carolina Aviators.
