I also was a huge fan of ASB. It frustrated the hell out of me, I so wanted that game to play better but it just had too many problems.

Yet it had a charm, a feel to it that I've never felt in any other baseball game. If they only could've gotten it right.

Either way, it does suck that our options in all sports are shrinking. Although I think EA is making College World Series baseball next year with the MVP engine.

I still dont see the problems you all talk about.. the bugs that there are in the game dont affect game play at all and can def be over looked. the only problem as I've stated before is the fact that they set "fielder cam" as def fielding cam view that when your not using it.. once in a blue moon it will revert back to it zooming in on the ball and really messing you up fielding.

Also like i said im not a "roster update whore" so i dont need to have the ability to make every roster up to date as of the min or trade...so the roster thing you guys think sucks doesnt affect me.

the thing that drew me into the game were the following...

            1. life like perfect real life stadiums

            2.the great amazing commentary

            3. the fact that it had salary arbitration and the rule five draft.

            4. the waiver wire

            5. NO SLIDERS that is huge cause they are way to frustrating for me to try and adjust

well that is all that i can think of know.. and the vacu glove thing.. it is no big deal...

I tend to Agree with Jistic. I am definately going to miss the parks, scoreboards, announcing, generated counts and the other things we all like. But I am trying to look at the bright side and will enjoy the some of the things that drove me nuts in ASB. No more vacuum catches. Fewer infield hits, more extra-base hits. Hits down the line etc.

                There are always trade offs.

Interesting, I thought there were too many extra base hits. Just might be me though.

I "outplayed" ASB 2004...meaning I got too good for the game and the lack of sliders didn't help. Last year, I went to MVP since ASB was the only non-EA baseball game I had ever bought. This year I'm going with MLB 2006.

I'm going to pick up a used copy of ASB 05 when I pick up the new MVP on Wed. Seeing as thought EB and Gamestop still has ASB listed at 40 new, I'm not going to spend that much on year old game. I haven't bought a used game before, I imagine they come with the case and everything though

If anyone was interested in helping me out, I'd be willing to help update the rosters as much as possible.

I'm going to play my MVP franchise with my beloved Sox, and then go the moneyball route with a team on ASB. Use a team like the Brewers maybe. I really wish I hadn't traded in ASB05 last year, I thought I'd never want to play it again, stupid me.
