Out of the box, this game looks like an ARCADE-fest. It's absolutely ridiculous. Did you see how QUICK the shortstop got rid of the ball when the Reds turned two? The ball was out the player's hand before the damn animation kicked in. Damn it.

Players are running the bases too quickly... so you know initially run speed and throw speed have to be decreased immensely. I feel like ADHD is kicking in watching this game.

And the animations... don't get me started. I hate the fact players still "reset" back to the batting animation in between pitches. Gotta love how the IF's do a lazy throw animation and the ball ROCKETS out the player's arm.

What the hell are these people doing to this game?? I can't STAND how a title like ESPN 2k3 can become something like this. It pisses me off!

Sorry for the rant.... I just want a good, next-gen baseball game to go along with MLB '06 (which is just INSANE... but I'd like some eye candy!)... and with this game it looks like you almost have to talk yourself into enjoying the game... "Hey, it doesn't look so bad..." C'MON....

Well, you said you want a great Next-Gen baseball game, why don't you wait and see what the 360 looks like, forget about this Xbox/Ps2 version. I really think the 360 versions gameplay will be a bit tighter.

Pared and even myself love the sport of baseball, and even though I don't know Pared I feel his pain. KUSH hasn't really knocked our socks off. I stopped coming in here because I was being pessimistic towards the game in a constructive manner. I just am not feeling this game until the 360 version arrives and hopefully thngs will have been updated, but something about the gameplay irks me.

You really think the state of 2K6 is worth all those hells and damns and OMG's and !!! and ??? and CAPITAL LETTERS FOR EMPHASIS? Really? I mean c'mon: it's a video game. If you don't like it, stick with The Show. Oh yeah: and BREATHE.

OK, there are guys here that have been coming in to the 2K baseball series boards on a regular basis. Opinions our very spread out. All we want here is a very good baseball game w/ gameplay, not something that's only pretty.

And I'm often a critic of the game for sure. I just don't think I've ever been PO'd about all of it though. What game is worth that? I'll simply play 2K5 for another year if the 2K6 stinks, which it won't. It will definitely be playable. And with John and Joe as commentators, the game is already extremely enjoyable. No work involved having to force myself to like that. And if others find The Show to be a great game, stick with that. Hard to understand what the issue is here.

You didn't cave into buying a PS2 like I did for MLB06 & SDvR06. Your missing a good baseball game.

I hope that KUSH turns things around.

Hey man, you forgot about Jim too. Lol.

Anyway, I haven't seen much new in the animation dept...the lean over the rail to catch the foul ball and the occassional head snapping back of the batter after his swing are about it. Those dp animations were from last year.

Hopefully the gameplay is fixed. B/c IMO, the animations are still horrible, especially when you think about the fact that 2k also brought us NFL 2k5.

Oh well...

If you cared about gameplay then you wouldn 't have many gripes. Last year the diving fields and hr robs were the biggest gameplay flaws imo and they both seem to be fixed.

I agree just about w/ev'thing you said. And I'm beginning to wonder, will active crords and vendors and prettier graphics relly make this game worth playing on the 360?

I noticed that some of the batter stances looked a bit better. There are animations here that have carried over from last year.
