People can knock EA all they want, but at least when they realized that it was time to scrap the Tripple Play series and start from scratch they did what had to be done and I think all of us as sports gamers are better for it. They were able to leave a market and return to it with a better offering that vastly outplayed the competition in under 3 years. Compare this to the 2k series and it leaves much to be desired. I'm not saying that it is a bad game, but it's time to take it back to the drawing board and address problems that have lingered for way too long.

Anyway, after this little rant, my point is that Kush shouldn't need 3 years nor should they get it, the series has had it's time to mature. The next generation of baseball gaming is here and the franchise has been around long enough for us gamers to expect a high quality offering and not just a rerun with some bells and whistles tacked on. I'm hoping that the 360 version of this game has been getting all the extra attention and a lot of problems have been fixed, but current gen versions don't hold too much promise.

This is true, but in madden's defense, they had much less time to develop for the 360 than 2k does now for their baseball franchise. But maybe 2007 will be a good year for both franchises. I just think that 2k should have had time to put together a great offering for this year. We deserve that much.

but EA, being the powerhouse that they are, had the luxury of having 2 dev teams for madden.

2K seems to be in serious financial trouble---so they probably only have 1 dev team for all platforms

if 2K stays in business i bet 2k7 will shine---if not throw darts my way

No one's blowing a gasket... but it's very frustrating to continually see this franchise not put forth the product it is capable of... especially when it is the "lead" baseball game, thanks to the exclusivity contract.

I'm sorry, but the 2K baseball series hit it's high back with 2K3. After that, everything started going downhill. I've been gaming for 20+ years and have seen many games come and go, and this series needs an overhaul. They continue to put resources in features than fixing the gameplay and animations.

Let's cut the BS here dude, and get back to talking about the good and bad about this game from previews. Nobody should be denied to express their opinion.

Meh, I don't know... I played 2k3 back in the day, how has is changed for the worse a gameplay standpoint... I mean it had cursor hitting and aim and throw (or whatever you want to call it) pitching. The pitching was too simplistic in terms of the fact that you pitched where the ball would end up, not where it would begin it's break like this year. That in itself is a step up imo. I've also never been a fan of cursor hitting so I was happy to see it go. That being said, I don't know what this years hitting system will be like so I won't judge it just yet...

I don't remember much, because it was some time ago, but what has changed gameplay wise since then that you dislike?

If this game isn't good when it comes out, I'll be laughing all the way to the bank if doesn't meet your expectations.

Defend whatever you want man, and your not making any friends around these boards talking to people the way that you are. Baa7 and Blzer are 2 class acts that even if your upset with the game, they can have an intelligent conversation about the positives and negatives of the game.

while Joe Morgan and whatshisface are great, I wouldn't mind having the NFL 2K guys in there. The current crew sound like they're at a funeral.

i've given up on game expectations--i've been here since 01---i've seen (& been a part) of A LOT of "release date letdown"

we're talking about a video game here. im just not willing to blow a gasket on some of the stuff listed. check out my posts---most are intelligent, worthy. yeah some are trite (like the last few). at the end of the day if were not friends, i guess it's my loss.

I'm not trying to argue with you.

It would be nice if everyone respected each other, that's all. I have been purchasing World Series Baseball since the Genesis days to Saturn to DC to XBOX. I just don't like the direction that they are taking the game in and I am hoping that things improve. I was one of the few people that bought both MLB2K5 and WSE. There were many DIEHARD MLB2K5 fans that didn't spend a dime on WSE last year. I'm not here to bash the game, but I'm looking for them to make improvements to the gameplay.
