I don't get why people keep saying that the graphics aren't impressive. They look pretty good to me.

The graphics look great, it's just that from the trailer the swing animations to me look improved, but not by much, even the pitchers follow through still looks herky jerky a bit from the trailer.

Those screens look great, but the game rarely looks that good while in motion. Never trust screen captures.

However, graphics aren't a major problem in this game. It's the poor gameplay, mechanics and lack of fluid motions that have plagues this series for years.

Blzr, Jeter doesn't raise his leg when hitting, I really hope they remove that, especially since Jeter is the Cover-Boy & should have Mo-Capped him to death. He strides into his swing.

Yup, he does not have a high leg hitch when he starts his swing. Definately needs to be addressed, especially as the cover boy.

2k's mo-cap always seems to get lost in translation when it comes to baseball.

To me the swing animations definitely look better. But I honestly can care less about graphics and animations in baseball games, show me some gameplay!!

I'm confused here, I mean you guys go through this every year, about how great it looks. Show me one screen with a stat overlay, score on it batting zone ect... This was to me a CGI movie, nothing more nothing less. Show me a gameplay movie or screen and I'll believe it until then, this is just KillZone from E3 2005.

He doesnt? I swear this looks like a leg raise:

This wasnt a CGI movie though. Its in game footage taken from replays. Comparing it to Killzone is a huuuuuge stretch.

                      Actually, he sort of does.

Even if he doesn't, I never said he did... I just said that the strides must be player-specific, because guys like Matsui (and whoever the Angels player was... assuming it was Figgins or some another) had much different strides. Well, they were much more toned down, and not as high up. I make sure to choose my words carefully before saying these kinds of things, just to make sure I don't say something incorrectly.

I agree that it needs to be addressed, but it seems as though it may only be for Jeter, and not too many others.

If you look at the faster portions of the video, the game seems pretty fluid, and given 2K's committment to 60fps, that's going to help.

Like many have said, you can't get a feel about gameplay from this vid, but I do think the game looks a lot better.
I sure hope this game is going to run in 60 FPS... because the video doesn't make it appear to seem that way. Perhaps that's just GameSpot or Quicktime, though.

He's suppose to snap the bat back in front of him after he completes his swing. I guess I'm nitpicking, but with the next gen systems I expected that kind of realism. At the very least couldn't they include 4 or 5 different generic follow throughs, with one being the 2 handed?
Yeah, his bat also ends up around his waistline rather than up near the shoulder like a lot of other two-handed swings. Damn, I wish they had two-handed follow-throughs this year, but I guess not.

The swing animation is definitely different. When I was watching the video, I was looking at the batter's head. It didn't go flying down the line after contact!! In the Jeter clip, it looks like he hit a fly to right and his head was tracking it. This was good to see, because I need to know that they are working on the batter's swing this year. It has been my number ONE issue with the game the last couple of years.

By the way, I'm trying to come up with a theory on the position of the sun, seeing as though it is different for every different game we see on the trailer. Ever since 2K2, the sun's "position" was always a little more geared toward behind the third base line, as the shine would hit the backs of right-handed hitters and the fronts of left-handed hitters. As you can see in this video, this isn't always the case.

So, either they have specific sun positions for specific stadiums, the games are running at different times of day and the time of day is "progressing" as the sun goes down, or both.
