I totally agree. You know who it looks like, even down to the follow-through and bat flip on a HR? Giambi. Check out the video again, and watch the way he follows through, and flips the bat. Maybe it's a mistake and they gave Matsui Giambi's stance, follow-through and HR bat flip?? Even more weird when you consider that in 2k6 they have both Matsui and Giambi's stance, and very good versions at that.

A lot of good back-and-forth from people about this game today. I was in the vast minority of people that actually like this game and to this day I keep updating the rosters (I'm sick, I know). But the improvements look great, and hopefully having Brinkman on board really will make an "MVP" impact on this game. Instead of judging things from screenshots and trailers though, I'm waiting to see a little more. But so far, so good.

Well, remember that Giambi bends at the elbow and doesn't keep his arm straight.

My guess is that the home run trots aren't player-specific, and that they probably have a few generic ones. Hopefully they have some where they are no-doubters, but you cannot determine whether they're fair or foul (so they do animations where they lean to "move" the ball, or wave their arms like Carlton Fisk.

Not bad, but like most have said, some actual gameplay vids will really tell the story.

PS: Good to see a lot of you on here again. The baseball boards are my favorite

The video looked good, but to me there is no gameplay vids backing those nice graphics.

i for one did NOT like this trailer. Mainly because of the continuing trend of ****ty swing animations. Jeter's swing looked more awkward then last years, and the other swing animation was the same as last years

More awkward than last year's? How so?

And believe me when I say that you will not find one animation (except for maybe batting stances) that was the same as last year. Animations have been "replaced", if you will. So, while you assume that something looks the same, don't make the impression that Kush got lazy and left poor animations in there, because they didn't.

I knew that wasn't Matsui's proper HR reaction & now that you mentioned it, that does look ALOT like Giambi's HR celebration. Matsui's got a 2 handed follow through, as does Jeter.
So lets see, Jeter's got A-Rods stride/swing & Matsui's got Giambi's HR celebration.... weird. The solution is fairly simple though, as all they need to do is add a 2 handed follow through to the game. I wonder what Ichiro's swing looks like in 2K7?

Does anyone from Take-Two or VC's ever post on OS? It'd be great if they'd read these boards, like the SCEA Sports team does.

Well, I know that Brinkman's username on here is mickfleetwood, but he hasn't logged on since a little before Christmas.

And if you watch my .gif again, I have a feeling that may be a two-handed follow-through. Notice that, in a sense, it actually is a two-handed follow-through ending with the bottom hand placing the bat down. That, or that is probably the only follow-through. But since we do know that there are different strides (see Matsui and Figgins? vs. Jeter), there may be different swings as well.

Thanks for pointing that out. It's good to know that the new producer of the MLB 2K series checks these boards from time to time.

I was about to say the same thing. I love 2K baseball games just as much as The Show and MVP series since all 3 franchises bring something new to the table, but until we see gameplay vids I think people need to get a bit realistic here. I hope in a few months that I'm proven wrong when this game releases, but since ESPN 2K4, there has been nothing but trailers that led people to believe what you were seeing in the trailer is what the game was like. When people started breaking the seal off of the game and popping them into their consoles playing them, they left somewhat if not totally disappointed.

Again, I'm not trying to be negative about this in anyway. I was still working on rosters for 2K6 (360) in Sept/Oct if that means anything, but I'm not putting all my eggs in one basket based off of a trailer.

your funny BTS, I have been playing MLB 2k since it was on the dreamcast, so I'm a big time vet, but since Kush took over the game has been total crap, yes crap. This game will always have some nice graphics and now it's in it's second year on next-gen for sure it will look good, but until they get rid of Kush, I don't care what ya say, the game will never play good, I really still can't believe they have Kush working on the game.

Ur right candyman. In a way i agree with u. I think the game looks good so far but we cant really get too crazy until we actually see some gamepley videos. I dont think ur being negative i think ur being realistic. At the same time im sure 2k put pressure on Brinkman and kush to develop a good game so i dont think we will get the same garbage from last year. Im sure this game will be much better then last years POS. But ur right lets see some gameplay..
