Well i like to be able to guess a zone with the left stick like MVP. Where you if you felt the next pitch would be low and away you could sit on it. If it wasn't there I could just lay off the pitch until I got the pitch in the zone I was looking for. That is what I used to do when I played baseball. You look for a spot. I don't like to just hit the swing button no matter where it is and get a hit. I guess we just have to realize this is not MVP anymore. If you held up on MVP and the pitch was low and away, it was for sure either a strike or pop up. On MLB2K7 it is a homerun with the right timing. I don't want to play RBI baseball anymore ( although I loved that game).

Yup, same feeling here...kinda wish EA would have obtained the baseball liscense and 2k would have obtained the exclusive football but oh well I'll just have to go back to MVP'05

But you know, this is exactly how you are supposed to play the game. The manual says you will hit better aiming the left stick in the direction of the pitch (a la MVP). In real baseball this is how it is. If there is a low outside pitch, you should poke it to right field. If you try and pull it, you won't have success. This is how this game is designed. You can pull and inside pitch, but if it is an outside pitch and you try to pull it, you will most likely hit a weak grounder. Success is dependent on following the pitch, just as the manual says.

Yeah but if you push the stick up at all at an any angle it is a long ball. That is the point. No real risk for pushing up.

I don't know, I've seen many variations with the hit stick up. Strikeouts, popups to the IF and OF, etcc..... For me, I'd say pushing up and striking out is a risk.

I still like the game a lot, but for two player it CAN get out of hand real fast. More slider tweaks I guess. No worries.

Ah, two player, my bad, I speculated it was against the CPU. I haven't played two player.

I agree, that's what I'm seeing. Most of my HRs with the stick are due to pitches up in the strike zone (mostly inside), just as in real life.

Ah, two player, my bad, I speculated it was against the CPU. I haven't played two player.

Yeah two player feels like a whole other animal on this game, but it may just be all in my head.
