Was Brinkman the main man on MVP Baseball 2005? If so, why can't he bring those same gameplay mechanics to MLB 2K8? Everything in MVP seems to run smoother.... especially the way the ball is pitched.... in MLB 2K7, the ball seems to float around and not have that fast motion look to it, the same with hitting.....

I hope Brinkman has more ideas than we even know....

MLB 2K7 was a big improvement over 2K6 but it still wasn't quite there for me. I'd like to see a lot more foul balls, for starters. You can't duplicate the battle between the pitcher and batter or get accurate pitch counts without foul balls and I rarely saw more than one per at bat. Also, the defense needs a lot of work, IMO.

Brinkman has definitely moved this franchise in the right direction but I'm still not entirely happy with where it's at.

I think so. At least it did for me. It seems to play better.

Not even close. IMO, NBA 2K8 and NHL 08 are both much better sports games than MLB 2K7. I'd love to see MLB 2K8 pass them up, though.

This has become one of my all time favorite games! The graphics are great, the animations are very acceptable to me, and the game play is phenomenal. The only drawback to me is the hitting is difficult. It takes me several games to get back the timing, so if I dont play the game for awhile I suck!

I for one am done with video games, the leap from PS2/Xbox to PS3/360 is not impressive at all, and it's been more than a year now. Most of the games are the exact same with enhanced graphics, and even then, the graphics aren't as good as I expected them to be.
              Later,

I'll continue having fun with my sports games.

If they can make the hitting more like MVP05, this will be the best baseball game ever. They absolutly need to fix check swings. You almost have to swing at everything in 07 with how fast the pitch is coming and not being able to check swing. I still love the game and can't wait till 08 comes out!

A lot of that has to do with the poor framerate in 2K7. Sure, there are some awkward animations but they are highlighted by the continuous stuttering as a result of the poor framerate.

If they can get that game to 60 fps, everything would look smoother. One gigantic difference between MVP and 2K is that 2K is miles ahead in terms of graphics- some would say 2K is as beautiful a game when it comes to player models as has been made. 2K puts a lot more strain on 360/PS3 than MVP does on the PC. It's a lot tougher to get smooth motions when you're pushing graphics like 2K has.

John and Joe are good but they are to laid back and boring. I think they should add somebody more exciting. They need to work on the admosphere. Make the crowd really get into the game. Add a pregame post game show like nfl2k5. They should also tweak the batting. I know this is one of my most anticipated games.
And, add a "Manage Only mode" that works as it should. I should be able to select the "Manage Only" option and see the game from a medium-to-high camera angle, where I can see each play unfold, adjust my defenses accordingly and on and on. If they made the "Manage Only" feature even half as good as that in OOTP2007 (with the addition of pretty graphics), this game could completely crush the competition, and then some.

Yes! I'd love a Manage-only mode. College Hoops has a decent coach mode so its not like 2K is averse to putting it in their games.

They need to add a mode similiar to MLB 07's Road to the Show Mode for me to consider buying this game next year. A mode like that would be a savior.

I love baseball games, but I could barely play 2k7. I was so excited and it was a huge let down. I disliked the batting system and the pitching system was no where near what MVP's was. I hope both of those are revamped for 2k8.
