Yeah the update to mlb 2k7 made the difference for me, mlb 2k8 should be sweet, and really if u look at madden nba 2k8 and NHL really wasnt it the best sports game to come out this year ?

Even if it was, the basis of your argument is seriously flawed and should never be used to justify a game. I don't care how good/bad the game was, just because all the other games were just as if not more crappy, that doesn't mean you should be happy with the product.

I for one am done with video games, the leap from PS2/Xbox to PS3/360 is not impressive at all, and it's been more than a year now. Most of the games are the exact same with enhanced graphics, and even then, the graphics aren't as good as I expected them to be.

1. I'm strictly a sports gamer, so I was speaking strictly of the sports games. I should have been clear about that because I really do have no idea about the other games out.

2. I'm still interested in sports games, hence my browsing of this site/forums. That will never change. But I am tired of the (in my opinion) degrading quality of the games as the years go on. Someone has to be able to agree with me on that...

but considering the benchmark set by MVP2005/ NFL2k5, next-gen has been dissapointing

I agree that nextgen sports games are lacking. It seems they haven't taken the next step, but I'm not sure they know what that step should be.

When I look at MLB 2K7, I see great presentation, one of the best I've seen in a sports game. I think the game is very close to being excellent. If they can smooth out the frame rate, add some more animations, polish the commentary and give a few more camera angles, things will be great.

if MLB 2K7 is the worst I can do, then that's fine be me. I agree with the argument that next gen sports games haven't made the leap we all thought/hoped they would, but I remember 8 years ago. I was still in high school, working part time after practice and saving up money for a Dreamcast. First sports game I buy was World Series Baseball 2k and the damn game had auto-fielding and no option to turn it off. But I played the crap out of it. Baseball's my favorite sport and I love baseball video games so I've always been able to overlook dark spots of certain games and embrace them. So when my biggest complaints about MLB 2K7 are that I can't hit as well as I'd like and that sometimes the games are decided by homeruns, well I'm more than willing to deal with that.

anyone remeer front page sports baseball ?? lol man its still has to improve but i think its headed in the right direction and brinkman has a track record so im willing to believe 2k8 will be a great game

I cant wait!!! I really enjoyed MLB2k7. I say get the game to run at 60fps and add more animations like dqbell said. I think they should change the commentary. John and Joe are good but they are to laid back and boring. I think they should add somebody more exciting. They need to work on the admosphere. Make the crowd really get into the game. Add a pregame post game show like nfl2k5. They should also tweak the batting. I know this is one of my most anticipated games.

I'm aching for the tiniest of nugget droppings. My copy of 2k7 keeps freezing on me, so I really haven't played a good game of baseball since around the NLDS. I'm ready.
