i purchased a ps3 today, pretty much cost me $252 because i unexpectedly got some extra money and put it towards a console that actually works. I am on my fifth 360 and thats about to die because it has started to scratch my discs. ****ING LAME! So i just got a ps3 and everytime my 360 crashes I get a free wireless controller, which i just sell. So at the end of the day, thanks microsoft, for paying for my ps3.

I can't see ever buying a console for one game... If 2K7's not up to par...which I will be really disappointed if it isn't... Then I will just stick w/ Mass Effect and tearing 12 yr olds to shreds on COD4.

I might just force myself to like 2K8 just so I can play a baseball game...if it ends up sucking...But I don't have that much of a disposable income to go buy another system w/ only one game in mind for it.

thats a really crappy way of thinking of it, to most die hard baseball fans, the show is a system seller.

Agreed. MLB 2K6 was an unplayable 360 game. On Xbox, I found enjoyment in it. I finished a full season plus change of franchise mode. On the 360, I couldn't finish three innings. Terrible game.

This series needed a serious upgrade when it came to terms with the 360 version, and they gave us just that with MLB 2K7. This year, they had three more months of a development cycle. I see nothing but an upward improvement with this game as well.

The thing is, though, SCEA has no where to go but up as well. Not only that, but they aren't limiting the Blu-Ray disc's power at all (and I have a feeling that Kush is so that it doesn't surpass the 360 by too much). Graphically, The Show inferior... but Kush really needs to step up and make this game very playable out-of-the-box to have a chance with The Show in the gameplay department



As for the OP's initial post, this is exactly what I have been talking about for a long time. It's not that I'm worried about info and media for my sake; I can wait. I'm just concerned for them... concerned that they will lose people only because they waited too long. I understand what that one poster said about getting it to play as good as possible, but sometimes you just need to get a small something out there. I know many movie teaser trailers that have CGI shots that are definitely a crap work-in-progress that look far superior when the movie actually comes out, and this is no different. I say they just need to tease us for now... for their sake.

dude, really stop it already, you don't even own a next gen system, so you really can't speak on any of this, going to best buy and playing the demo doesn't count.

I will say one thing this will be a tough year for baseball for me. The Show was great and I have faith in 2k8 too, but I don't know I think I may have to rent both games first. I am tired of having two, because then I start wanting things from the other game when I am playing the other game. lol It has happen with hockey and it is driving me crazy!!!!

re-read that interview and brinkman says

BTW....my 360 just died--had a PRP plan from best buy...just bought a 40GB PS3 for 50$

Although I see where you're coming from, I disagree a bit with your explanation. If you're suggesting that if the game came out, and was deemed excellent, and for some reason a person chose not to purchase the game because of previous lack of info, I would agree with your assessment. If the person chose not to purchase a game because there was no prior info on it, I don't see how that is a problem. You can't blindly purchase a title you know nothing about and think that it is a smart decision. If no research can be attained on a particular game that would give a person enough confidence to want to purchase it, I could understand why the person would have no interest. Its easy for diehard 2K fans to make their purchasing decisions based on what they've previously seen and expect, but newcomers will not take this lack of information lightly, which could result in some lagging sales numbers if 2K doesn't get their marketing together.

Sure, but I am talking about people not buying a game becasue of lack of info when it is coming out in 2 more month. Some are acting like they are going to give up and not buy it. All I am saying if it kicks *** I am sure people will go out and buy. By that time there will be a lot of info on it.

I dont want to start any arguments but im starting to feel this way. Im a 2k fan. I played 2k7 alot i mean alot and they really did something special after the patch. Im starting to get upset because the show's graphics are looking really nice with the exception of player models. They are showing pics, videos and previews that actually say alot about what they are doing. Why cant 2k show something?? I know alot of people are going to tell me to have patience but at this point they ran out. Im honestly considering a ps3 now just for the show. I had a ps3 when it first came out but i sold it because the lack of games at first, but now with all this info on the show and 2k not showing anything. I think i might do that. Im a diehard baseball fan and 2k seems to not want to market their game at all. I guess that explains why they struggle in their sports department.

No scottd ill still buy it but the lack of info is fustrating. I dont want to buy a ps3 just for one game but i wont lie and say im not tempted. The show looks real good this year. I like both eye candy and gameplay and last years show look very weak graphics wise. This year it's a different story. Thats what marketing does. It makes you want the product. The show has given their fans so much s*** that it makes you want the game. Thats all im saying. 2K should do the same and i know they will be profitable and not have people wondering about info.

Did you really enjoy MLB 2k6, it was one of the worst sports games produced. 2K7 was a step in the right direction, but still loaded with glitches

Enjoy/not enjoy... take your pick My point is, all this drama and hyperventilating will end the day the game comes out, just like every year. So may as well just relax and be patient.

Just kidding, I get it. I mean, that's how it is, and I completely understand it. That said, once again, I can wait. I just don't see how they can wait, while The Show is getting plenty of love (and deservingly so, I might add). It's just awkward to say the least that they are tired of playing second-fiddle to The Show, yet they are letting SCEA stomp on them yet again.

But when stuff comes out, everyone will be able to breathe.
