No i did play 2k7 and 6 what i mean is that they seem like they are just slightly updated rosters from 2k7. Believe me I am a TB Rays fan. I know all to well the way we get treated by 2k

I love playing with the Rays. I wish Kazmir through a couple more pitches though and the rest of their pitchers are worthless. But their offense is a lot of fun.

Come on!! James Shields is a great young pitcher. He's a solid #2 with 184 K vs. 36 BB's. He posted a 1.11 WHIP all while pitching in the AL. This kids legit and with Santana being moved to the Mets he has the best changeup for a starting pitcher in the AL. Give him some love.

You are soxs fan but still he has a point.....Shields is a very good pitcher and garza should be a solid number three. I cant wait to play with Aki, Carl, BJ, Carlos, Longoria...That will be a nice lineup

The only way I can explain how these ratings can make sense to anybody at 2k is that they are based on a 3 year rolling average. There also has to be intangibles taken into consideration for some of the ratings. There is no reason the current Cy Young winner should not be in the top five in pitching ratings. There should be no reason that guys who have won 16 games or more be left out of the top 20 pitchers this doesn't make sense UNLESS a rolling average and potential are taken into consideration. I will be ok with the ratings so long as when I play a franchise the young up and commers and the old farts evolve and devolve like they should and not the way they have in past 2k efforts. So far this game is looking good and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot that's wrong that can't be tweaked with a little slider action or player editing.

Considering they use "Inside Edge" to do their ratings, that would explain why they are like this. Since IE is based off a three year average.

Inside Edge is a good starting place but it is still not the be all and end all of player ratings as far as I'm concerned. 2k needs to take into account other factors rather than just what Inside Edge spits out. For example anybody who has two legs and a heartbeat can have 70 RBI batting in the yankee lineup, but that same guy would be lucky to have 40 RBI hitting for tampa. Inside Edge doesn't take things like this into account, but anybody with any sense should be able to look at ratings and make adjustments accordingly.

Garza hasn't done jack at the big league level. He's got an arm though. I think he's more like an inconsistent 3.

                              I agree with you 100%

That is why I cant wait till player made rosters come out.

I also think we look too much into the "final rating number" ... where like Kush has said. It is the individual categories that make the player.

What happened to the days when things like clutch and experience were quantifiable stat categories in sports titles? Anybody remember the last game to have this...might have been an older MLB title or All Star Baseball...I think even 2k toyed around with it. Hmmmm...maybe playoff experience or something similar could be worked into the mix.
