Wow, anyone notice the shots of LA-PHILLY? Looks great but it might be time for Torre to go to the pen!

Hate to ruin the party, but is there really any reason to believe that the framerate issue and glitches will be fixed? All the previews I've read keep talking about this being a "preview build", but the darn thing is getting released 3/4, and a demo should be out really soon too. Plus, these issues are similar to all of the jerkiness problems they had in 2k7 too.

I'm going to have to be really wowed to get duped into launching another $60 into this product.

I was getting this game anyhow, but now I'm REALLY excited about it. I'm looking forward to my pitchers being all over the place on the highest difficulty settings.

I'm also really pumped about being able to try to influence the direction of the ball with the swing stick. If I'm trying to hit behind the runner on second base or to really pull and crush an inside heater, that addition is going to make the swing feel awesome.

I'll say again that I LOVE the throwing meter in the field. Adding the "cardinal direction" factor was really, really clever. One thing I noticed (I think in the Sportsgamer hands-on) was that they said throwing power in the field was ONLY controlled by the player's ratings. KushGamer had mentioned before that how far you push the analog stick affects the throwing power. I certainly hope that's the case and it was yet another error in the Sportsgamer's article.

I'm more encouraged by this hands-on than by anything I've read so far.

Do they mention, or Kush - can you answer - can you play the game without having to manually field? Do I have to control the fielder and actually make the play, or will the cpu do that for me? I don't mind throwing to the correct base, but I hate manually fielding.

                Thanks for any info.

Are you trying to say that Acclaim is no longer in business because it put retractable roofs and more franchise options in than current day games?
I just don't see the correlation.

No, what I was saying was that ASB was cancelled because it didn't sell enough. It probably didn't sell enough because it was geared more for the sim crowd, then say Triple Play or MVP (whatever was there at the time.)

If ASB was simply gone because Acclaim went belly up at the same time, then yes, my argument is moot, and I am not remebering my history correctly....

I don't think your argument is moot. 2K is definitely spending their time creating a game they think will sell to the masses - adding new cool features, etc. That leaves little time to fix issues that have been in the game for years, issues the casual gamer probably doesn't even notice, but ones the hard-core gamer does.

                                Kush, can you answer this?

I know we can influence whether we push or pull the ball, but can we influence hitting a fly ball or a grounder?

                                Thank you
