No need for that nonsense. Just post your opinions ON THE VIDEO and stop worrying about what others think.

I prefer the graphics and player models in 2K8. The Show is no slouch however.

Only knock I'll say for either game is that the Show's version of Albert Pujols looks anorexic

Yes, the models look crooked ( shoulders) to me when looking from the behind the pitcher . They did say the graphics took a hit to improve the gameplay. The player models look better to me in 2k7 Imo. Look at Jimenez in the vetzballin video.

There was no sharp or choppy transistions...or those ridiculously disorienting cinematic camera angles from all over the field, making the game feel very dysfunct.

Lets hope they nail it this year
Glad to see I'm not alone. Disorienting was the word I was looking for when I wrote that.....Every other game except The Show is disorienting when it changes from batter to fielding.

THE SHOW's players don't even look like real human beings. The animations are very good on there, but their swings don't look real..every swing is the exact same, the reactions to how the ball jumps off the bat are different, but the swings are the same.
I must be crazy and locked up for thinking the shows realistic then?

i really hope for my 60 dollars sake that 2k8 is good this year in hi def

Part of the disorientation in 2K is the fact the game switches to the fielding cam way too early. There are 2K8 vids out there where you can pause the vid maybe a foot or two before the ball makes contact with the bat (best to see this from the pitcher cam). When paused, you can see the ghost image of the fielding cam already super-imposed overtop the pitching cam.

As well - and again you can see and hear this when pausing - the crack of the bat isn't actually audible until the game has fully switched to the fielding cam and the ball is already well in play. In one instance where I paused the game like this one one particular play, the ball was already past the pitcher and heading towards the secondbaseman when the crack of the bat was finally audible.

When the video of The Show starts as the camera pans over the stadium with background music and commentary going simultaneously, it might seem more "lively" to some over the 2k8 game already in progress.

It's like watching the lineup announcements at a NBA game with the lights out and graphics all over the court then changing the channel to watch a guy shoot freethrows.

Compare The Show video at the 3:09 mark with the 2k8 video immediately following at 3:58. The show is no better without the music in the background IMO. One thing that I noticed in The Show videos was the absence of the organ. Call me old school, but baseball just isn't baseball without the sound of the organ.

Not trying to sway your decision, but just so you know that vid is pre-beta of 2K8.

Just go look at the glitches/bugs threads in the Show forum before you praise it based on this head to head

There are some pretty inexcusable bugs such as Giambi and Lowell being base stealers.

To be fair a lot of the post are discussion about GLITCHES. Not all the so-called GLITCHES have been 100% confirmed

I think that both the games look great, and if I had a PS3 I would buy both. I do think that the controls of 2k8 will have the player feeling much more involved. I also prefer the player models of 2k8. I like the cloth animations better and I also think they look like they have more weight. The Show player models seem too skinny to me, and the strike zone looks too big. At the end of the day, I just want a good game of baseball. I hope I can get one this year.
