I was fielding a grounder with Luis Castillo (He was shifted about halfway to 1B and in shallow RF) and the ball hit the lip of the grass where the dirt from the infield ends and the ball came up on him and he wasn't able to handle it. I didn't watch the replay and I should have, but I thought it was a nice little detail. My team ended up with 2 errors that game while the CPU had 4. I like knowing that there doesn't seem to be an issue with errors with sliders at default All-star.

Re: **The little things thread**
Nationals pulled the 3B in to guard against a bunt when I had Endy Chavez at the plate, and he swings away, slapping a gounder past the infielders faster than they can react.
Then, in the bottom of the ninth, two out and a two strike count, Billy Wagner serves up a gopher ball!Comment

Re: **The little things thread**
ok without flipping out, the mets have never worn a black jersey that says new york on it (away black) with blue undershirt and blue helmet with white pants.
yes there are cool base jerseys but they go with the regular uniform. the game has some alternat uniform to go with the cool base jerseys and the mets as an example pretty much have a fictional uniform as their "cool base" uniform. the jersey is a real jersey but thats it. their regular away alternate is black with grey pants, in real life if they were wearing the cool base jerseys they would just substitute the jersey, the rest of the uniform would remain the same. not so in the game. which is stupid.Comment

I'm assuming because they have a deal with Cool Base that they designed mock uniforms that would be available if every team wanted them but of course, not every team will wear them.
Bottom line is, ignore whatever Cool Base is. The problem is that there aren't enough alternate uniforms. For a game that has the exclusive license with MLB you would think that they would take advantage of this by having every uniform imaginable."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I believe you are right that not every cool base is real. I know some of them are as I've seen them during the regular season and in spring training last year. Not sure about this year as I've been too busy to catch any spring games or video.

yeah my main issue with cool base unis has nothing to do with cool base unis. its the fact that they are there and some real uniforms arent. the mets cool base uni was in the game last year. it wasnt an issue though cause all of the mets unis were there. this year some unis were removed but we got good ole cool base unis getting their own stinkin trailer.Comment

liner right off my pitcher's mitt (yes, had to view the replay on that one) right to my first baseman standing on the bag.. sweet
you know, the more I play this game, the more I am liking it.. Yes there are things that need to be addressed, but I would say now, giving it a fair shake, a 7 out of 10..Comment

Re: **The little things thread**
Just had a game where Cole Hamels lost his mind, plunking a couple of my batters and gettign tossed! LOL.
Another game I hit a high pop on the infield, it was windy and the CPU fielders collided and the ball dropped in
I also was trying track down a fly ball in the gap with beltran, he lunges for it, it goes off his glove and he smacks into Ryan Church.Comment

Re: **The little things thread**
He was barreling into the Florida Marlins catcher.
Seriously, runners on 2nd and 3rd, two outs and Corey Hart's hit's a liner hard off the glove of the Marlins 3B. Hall scores and Cameron keeps coming from second base. The SS picks up the ball and Cameron looks like a dead duck. He barrel's into the catcher and the catcher drops the ball and Cameron over runs the plate. He goes back to the plate and slaps it hard.
Cool beans.Comment

Strike three call on Jimmy Rollins, and a 3 -2 pitch to Chase Utley (both at Citizens Bank Park), announcer voice pitch dropped, sure sounded like Kalas...or a damn good impersonation!Comment

The same thing happens when you play the Dodgers. It's either the real Vin Scully's voice, or Jon Millers impersonation.Comment

Re: **The little things thread**
my centerfielder was chasing down a fly ball that was tagged pretty good.as he's tracking it,he reaches out to make the catch and the ball bounces off of his shoulder, he then adjusts his body(now back pedaling) and turns it into a basket catch while hitting the ground(falling backwards)...really nice play.Last edited by mr_president; 03-20-2008, 10:22 AM.Comment

Re: **The little things thread**
Playing the yanks at shea, joba is throwing a 1 hitter with 2 outs in the 8th. scheinder hits a groundball single on a 1 and 2 count and they bring in Farnsworth. He then prceeds to walk the next 3 guys to tie the game! (If patient, and depending on who is pitching, Im seeing a nice mix of balls and strikes..) Oh yeah I signed Piazza for a little pop off the bench and when he hits a hr they have his sig follow thru) Mets fans know what that looks like..Comment
