I thought this was in last year but it's been awhile since I played '07.

It's nice to check what the pitcher's tendencies are with certain batters

No - I think they took it out this year - not too happy about that.

Thanks Blzer. Anyone else experiment with the RS - pull influence. People kept saying Left Stick and I kept "arguin" RS.

RS swing influence works. It says it in the in game tips too.

Spot on. You never see misses even with **** hitters. If you put the batters eye looking high and the pitcher pitches a nice sinker that starts mid high and drops low, you should wiff, imo. that may be the way it works, i don't know.

What the heck does batter's eye do beyond let you "see" where the pitch will be?

If you move the left stick around (Hitstick 2.0), without the batters eye highlight circle up there, you can feel the vibration of the strike box. It seems like if you hold LS slightly down you hit a grounder, and slightly up you hit a flyball. All the way up and you pop it up, all the way down and you hit the ball too hard straight down resulting in a hard bunt type of shot.

When the CPU does this, they have a cool animation of the outfielder tossing it back in casually, but when I do it, my guy always rears up like he's trying to throw someone out. It's just an aesthetic thing
I'm interested in this also. I was experimenting and it seems if you load the meter slowly, (slight pull instead of full pull), they take their time and throw more casual. Again This is not concrete but I'll try some more

Does anybody know how to get your sliders on to your franchise???

I have all my sliders set and saved under my difficulty. Then I try to start a franchise and the sliders are set back to default. I tried loading them but nothing worked.

Anybody know how to get your sliders to your franchise? So I don't have to edit them everytime I start a franchise??

Always try to pre-load before the ball approaches you, otherwise it might just run through, crediting the hitter with a single to boot.
I think this happened to me last night. I had a slow grounder hit to Jeff Kent and as I ran forward to get the ball I preloaded the throw and he missed it and got an error. I can't say for sure what happened although I know that I've decided to only preload when it's necessary now.

My biggest complaint with the game at this point is that there's no way to show pitch history. That would be so helpful with batting that it's not even funny. Oh well.

Edit: Oh hey my 100th post. That only took four years...

In the manual it says to make a contact swing just simply pull the Right stick back and let go. Well when i do this it does nothing. No swing at all. The only time i can get my batter to swing is pulling back on the stick and then pushing it left, right, or up. Am i doing something wrong?

Don't pay any attention to the manual. If you're using SS 2.0, you have to pull back and push up to swing. You can push up and to the left or right to try to pull/push the ball.
Of course, if Dawson gets hot, and
                        Sutcliffe comes through, and....
