    how

So BK or any other Show owner, outside of Graphics what makes The Show 08 different from 07? From the reviews I've read from various sites 08 & 07 have basically scored the same.

I think the point with that game is that all they needed to change is the graphics...it was playing pretty solid the way it was.

exactly, people complained that the Show07 didn't look that great, but played great, now they keep the great gameplay and up the graphics and people still say the show isn't amazing, I understand nothing is perfect, but the Show is one of the most complete sports games period, yes thats my opinion. 2k7 was a good game after the patch last year, all 2k had to was bring the gameplay up to where the graphics were, and that was at a pretty high level, but didn't happen, 2k made a game with terrible framerate and dumbed down graphics, go figure that one. I'm still confused on this, they say they tuned down the graphics this year for gameplay, which didn't work, because 2k7 ran better then 2k8.

I have the Ps3 version, and 2k7 ran a 30fps, 2k8 feels like it runs at 15fps even if that is possible, they screwed up this year, and need to admit it, and thats the bottom line, and this is coming from a avid 2k baseball player over the years, going back to the dreamcast.

The only reason why I'm holding on to 2K8 is hoping the patch really makes a big difference.

I have to agree here. 2k7 ON the ps3 WAS 30 fps BUt it was a NICE 30 fps. 2k7 is real decent on the ps3 AFTYER seeing/playing 2k8 though. last year i wan't THAt thrilled with 2k7. WHY am i more happy with 2k7 then 2k8? Beyond me...

Could not agree more...2K7 did have some glaring issues but it was a decent game. 2K8, OTH, a whole different story. I downloaded the 2K8 PS3 demo (took forever BTW), attempted to play a three inning game but ended up quitting and deleting it from my system after just the first inning. Not even in the same ballpark as the Show (IMO) 2K7, OTH, had some pretty nice graphics and great potential for improvements this year. IMO, 2K should have just fixed the framerate issues, refined the AI and added a few more animations and announcing updates and 2K8 would have been a great game. Oh, what could have been.
I honestly feel sorry for the 360 owners (used to be one myself BTW) who enjoy playing a solid baseball game but did not get one this year. A sad shame. Just my two cents....

So The Show is basically the same game as last year, but with updated Graphics & some tightening-up in reference to Game Play & Updated Rosters. We'll it looks like I will pick-up The Show 07 & give it a try. I love baseball but I can't see myself spending another $65.00 on another baseball game, especially if that game is basically the same as last year with the above changes.

Re: This game without framerate issues

The Show is a solid franchise. Gameplay is solid. But if you already played The Show on either ps2 or ps3 the last 3 years, you're not going to get that big of a jump in gameplay. Yes, they have made improvments to the gameplay, but nothing that would bowl you over if you're already use to the series. Graphics on the other hand are a huge jump. But overall, The Show is a complete package. Only gripe I have with it is the bugs.

2k8 after the framerate issues are handled, plays a good game of baseball. The game is actually fun to play. Once you can get over the framerate and fix it, it's a pretty good baseball game.

agreed...Their pitching and fielding controls are the best ive seen in a baseball game, and it is hard for me to play a button mashing baseball game after using the innovative controls that 2k8 implemented. The fielding controls are the same that people loved in the MVP games. The pitching controls have never been done before and are very innovative imo

they did a great job on franchise mode also. It's very deep. Im having a blast with it.

No doubt. It's a more refined version of a game that was already great. Better hit variety, better ball physics, better collision detection on homeruns. Better handling of bullpens, more sliders, etc.

Not to mention RTTS has seen numerous improvements in how it handles your career. Opposing pitchers seem to gameplan around your hot and cold zones better, etc.

The Show didn't need innovation, it needed refining. That's what it got. 2k needed innovation, that's what it got also. Unfortunately framerate and overall graphics quality took a hit in the process, imo.

I like the new pitching interface, but I wouldn't say I love it. I think it's pretty cool. I am an old school gamer, who's was a die hard High Heater. The Show in classic mode, is exactly what High Heat was back in the day. That's exactly what I was looking for. For me, The Show is a more refined version of High Heat, with a deeper franchise mode and far superior graphics. It's as close to what would be the perfect game for me personally.

That being said, the fielding in 2k8 is the one place that 2k8 really outshines The Show. I think the fielding model and mechanic in 2k8 is probably the best ever in a baseball game.

Honestly, I really can't notice, I'm being serious, every time I put the game in and have to deal with the framerate, I have to turn it off. I haven't completed a game yet, by the 3rd inning on just pissed because of the framerate. The shows fielding is just fine for me, the lasting thing for me with both games is, the Show just portrays baseball better then anything I have ever played. Yes it needs some patching, like I said nothing is perfect, but it's pretty darn close for me.

Yeah it's different for everyone. I notice the framerate hits, and it does take some of the enjoyment of the game away for me, but I don't find it to be gamekilling like some folks do. But I do undertsand why some would feel that way. Everyone has different tolerance levels for certain gaming issues.

i never could get into high heat. I like simulation, but that game was over the top simulation wise for me. I guess the graphics were the main thing that threw me off though. A lot of people loved that game though.

my favorite baseball game of all time was MVP 05 and MVP college baseball....until MLB 2k8 came out. 2k8 is the most fun ive had with a baseball game in a while. I usually quit playing half way through franchise modes, but i can see myself playing through quite a few seasons in 2k8...especially after the patch. 2k8's patches are always good imo. Last years really improved 2k7.

btw, the Show has problems also that could use a patch...but the Show is great game too imo. It's graphics are awesome imo. It's good that there is finally a quality exclusive title on the ps3.
