Speaking strictly as a consumer i am suprised many of you are giving these guys another chance? I remember Brinkman claiming that he got it 2 years ago. But he blew it and i can't believe he still has a job at all. The bottom line is this title is a failure and cost the company a lot of cash and reputation Luckily, i have not bought this title ever. I still play MVP with new rosters. The game is near perfect except for a few minor things. Just imagine if EA had the chance to create new MVPs?

And i am a hard core NBA 2K fan. but do i have to wait another 3 years to get this right? I am so tired of the 3 year BS.

Brinkman doesn't even work for 2k anymore, he jumped ship to Activision.

I agree with not liking MVP, I don't understand what is/was so amazing about it. (Yes I have and yes I played it)

I'd admit that 2K8 started to have an MVP feel (a more sloppy one at that) but the controls aren't really similar.

Gesture pitching vs. meter pitching
Swing stick vs. MVP's hitting (was there even a name for it?)
Analog throw meter vs. face-button throw meter
The base running is different too.

I understand why people don't like MVP, I hated it for the first six months it was out but it finally grew on me even before I played the PC version with the mods. It's a very fun game but it is definitely on the arcade side even after all the tweaking. But man, I have never had more fun playing a baseball game.

The NCAA game had analog throwing and the swing stick... and gesture pitching was obviously the influence of Brinkman's analog-heavy control scheme.

I honestly feel had MVP been around, you would have seen most of what you saw in 2k8... in MVP Baseball...

True, I thought you were referring to MVP '05 since it was the last MLB game they made. Although I'm not sure how many people in here played '06.

I played NCAA 06. Throwing is exactly the same except for the fact that on NCAA 06, the meter was built in to the players icon and in MLB 2K8, it's over their head. Hitting is basically the same, except for the fact that the check swing in the NCAA 06 version was much more responsive and skill involved. You knew when you went to far or checked it in time. In MLB 2K8, it's a crap shoot.

I never played NCAA 07 because it only came out on the PS2, but I believe it used a analog pitching system, though I believe it was much different that what we have with 2K8. I believe it was called "Rock and Fire" pitching or something.
