You must REALLY love the Show man.

Tell that to the guys over on the SCEA forum. They tend to think I'm a critic, given I point out all the things that are missing or need fixing in the game. It's not perfect, I know that. But it's still ONE of , if not THE best sports game to come out this decade. And I agree about FIFA, BTW: I love that game. Funny thing is though, the hardcore football gamers on OS think it's junk. Compare that to The Show where the hardcore baseball gamers here love the game and are in video baseball heaven. That says a lot right there.

The Show still has things it needs to fix in order for me to play it.

The stocky player models,t-rex arms, and wide shoulders have got to go!

The game needs more/accurate signature styles.

Stick controlls for hitting,pitching and fielding.

If they do that, I'll play The Show.

i have to say that I totally agree about the player models. They are pretty bad. But the gameplay is on point. And that's what I care about the most. I like the fielding. The pitching, I think, could use an update, but it's fine if they left it alone. I don't want them to 2K8 it and create some complicated mess. But, again, the player models are bad. No other word for it.

The debate would have to do with stick versus button controls. I prefer the stick, but if you're a baseball fan, you don't pass on the sports game of the decade and the best baseball game of all time, just because of that. You just don't.

If 2k9 plays realistic out of the box, or if you can at least tweak sliders to make it play that way, I don't see how anybody can say it ain't one of the best baseball games of all time.

You might see a lot of Show fans switch over to 2k9 if that happens.

If all it takes is playing realistically, then MLB Power Pros must be the bar all other games must measure up to. But of course... the lack of right stick controls and "T-Rex arms" hold back The Show from being considered one of the greatest baseball games of all times.

No double standard there. Not at all.

The game will be solid, without a doubt. But comments like this are just full of blind optimism despite the reality of the situation.

But yeah, I see your point. Let's just wait and see before we even think about calling it "on of the best of all time"

Personally, from what I've seen, my guess is that it will be a good game worth owning, but as far as it being "one of the best of all time", that remains to be seen. We'll see what March 3rd brings.

That's one huge "If". Look, I only have a 360 and I'm dying to finally have a decent baseball game to play on it. So I'm hoping 2K9 is worth purchasing. But as this pertains to the OP and his question, the fact is, given this game's recent history, people would have to be a bit insane to rush out and buy 2K9 without renting it first. Whereas The Show is a no-brainer purchase and a can't-lose proposition.

All anyone has is speculation. What could you actually discuss that is any different?

I said 2k9 could be one of the best if it plays realistically, cause I feel that it's the only major thing missing from the series.

Actually I was the first to respond and told him to wait for the demo since he already played The Show demo. Everyone else took it into another direction.
