Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
To the posters who are still complaining about the franchise bug. ITS FIXED!! Who cares how, or when. Its done. Why would a company delay a release when they can just patch it on day 1. The game isn't even supposed to be out yet.
Everyone was ready to jump off a bridge last night. Simballer comes in and says the problems is fixed and we still can't let it go?? ALL GAMES HAVE BUGS. Can't we just be happy its fixed??
WOW, just got home and read this, that is great news. Thanks. I don't like the idea of controlling all of teams.Originally posted by jim416You are the 2k Police. :)Comment

Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
blah blah blah. So you're telling me that the earliest possible release date allowed by the MLB is also the last day allowed? It's very obvious that 2k rushed this to release it alongside the show. As the guys at scea said, the 3rd of march was the earliest release day allowed by the MLB. Also seeing as the fix is already either done or in the works, gives you the idea they knew about this but decided to rush the game anyway and then fix it with a patch instead of delaying the game a couple weeks. Why are you defending them when you don't even know when your own excuses are true? Why are you making it seem like you're speaking for them? But this was also before exclusive contracts and their requirements for yearly games and meeting deadlines.
Development has taken a turn for the worse since the introduction of the Internet and the ease of software updates/patches. Unfortunately, this is the way it will be for the conceivable future. I'm not saying it's right, but it is what it is.Last edited by dave_sz; 02-26-2009, 05:58 PM.Comment

Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
how? this was a feature they were boasting about, how it was better than ever. It should've been one of the first things they bug tested.
Whatever, no point in pointing the finger and no point in anyone defending them when we have absolutely nothing to back up anything we're saying...Comment

Like he said (but you failed to quote that part), sometimes fixing one bug causes another. As a coder myself, I can tell you that this happens a lot in programming. You change one bit of code to remedy one problem and that creates another issue that you weren't expecting.
I'm not defending them or saying that's what happened.....just saying that's what could have happened.Last edited by jeffy777; 02-26-2009, 06:09 PM.Comment

Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
lol, how was I defending them? I said it could have been a late bug. It could have. Ask any programmer and they will tell you this stuff happens. I am not defending anyone. Just stating a possible reason. Relax bro.how? this was a feature they were boasting about, how it was better than ever. It should've been one of the first things they bug tested.

Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
So it seems I'm late to this party...lol. Is it true that simballer confirmed the franchise issue is known and will be fixed on release day?
EDIT: Nevermind, I finally found it...lol. Well this is certainly good news. I now also understand the separate thread on patching lawsuits too
...lol.
Now we're back in business! Time to start shredding this game for something else...lol
j/k...it's good news!Comment

Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
2K should really offer patch disks to those without internet access. Just call a 1-800 # and you will be sent a disk with the patch. That would at least give another option to those with no other recourse.Joshua:
