When the "user" has a left-handed pitcher out there, is the view from behind the pitcher always from the right field side or is there another option...I prefer a more "tv style" view which would always stay on the slight left field camera looking at home plate...

Hey Chase,
1.Could you plz ask 2k if they know of run down, "in a pickle'" problem?
2.if you move your outfielder slightly before he catches the ball he tends to let the ball drop have u seen this?
3.I noticed in vid Lance Berkman batting stance way off, if u don't know he has bat laying on shoulder the vid showed him holding bat way up and behind. Could u check this?Last edited by GoStros; 02-28-2009, 01:02 AM.Comment

Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
ChaseB,
you seem to have some connect with 2K, some of the people on these boards who have the game already have come across that the "edit batting stances and pitch deliveries" for those players that have default stances (ala Normal-High/Medium, or Wide-Low/Medium/High) has been omitted from the rosters this year for MLB/AAA players. Supposedly the create-a-player is the same way. If u want to create-a-player u can only give him a default stance or pitching delivery. What I am wondering is, since u have a line of communication with 2K is it possible for u to check on this for us. This is a big deal to a lot of people, especially those who like to edit their rosters. Thanks so much. It's greatly appreciated. LaterComment

Hey chase, thanks for answering our questions.
Have you noticed if it is as easy to baffle cpu batter with curveball as it was in the demo. It seems like in the demo everytime I threw curve with kazmir would either get a strike or weakly hit ball. If this a problem in full game I hope some slider or higher cpu level can fix it.Comment

Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
Wow, maybe I'm just really impressionable, but this past week has been a roller coaster ride for me about what to think and expect from 2k9. First, I was dissapointed to learn about the franchise bug. A day later, I was relieved and happy to learn that it will be patched. I was officially psyched about game and release. Now I find out about not being able to edit batting stance for all non signature assigned players. I really doubt this is patchable obviously since it's not really a glitch or error but more of an omission. This isn't a total GAMEKILLER...but it does take away some of the depth from the game. Dissapointing...but oh well. In the grand scheme of things...they are just batting stances.Comment

At first I was hoping that we would be able to edit stances for non sig assigned players like 2k8. Since it is now confirmed, I can no longer hope.Wow, maybe I'm just really impressionable, but this past week has been a roller coaster ride for me about what to think and expect from 2k9. I'm assuming since living rosters are now in the game they had to sacrifice the option to change stances in order to provide us that feature.
It sux, but I'm still getting the game.Comment

I've heard that logic a couple times and I just don't understand. Why on earth would they have to remove it for a roster update feature? At first I was hoping that we would be able to edit stances for non sig assigned players like 2k8. Since it is now confirmed, I can no longer hope.

I'm sure there's a reason (whether excusable or not) but this makes absolutely no sense to me.Comment

Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
i wanted to post my first impression of the 1st game i played on my copy.. unfortunately, i left it on Pro and didnt realize it.. it was way too easy.. I was the Cubs, played CPU White sox.. it was 8-0 with Zambrano getting a complete game shutout, soriano hitting 2 HR's, and D-Lee going 3-3.. framerate is smoother.. i know some people had some questions on 1080p vs. 720p.. i ran it at 1080p and didnt see any hicups or jaggies that really stood out like last year.. one thing i did notice.. carlos quentin hit a double to right center, zambrano went behind 3rd to help backup a potential throw.. as they showed the realtime cut scene after the play, the 3rd base coach for CWS was stretching out his hammies by bending down and touching his toes.. he just so happened to have done this while zambrano was standing behind him pounding his fist into his mit...
it really looked like mr.joey cora was getting slammed from behind.. i will play some more on all-star tonight but wanted to share that story

Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
If this is true, then TO HELL WITH LIVING ROSTERS!!!
Batting stances and pitching deliveries are way more important than lowering a players attributes just because he's in a slump in real life.Comment

Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
The living rosters feature is a joke. Anyone with a lick of common sense should be able to realize that a player's talent level doesn't change on small sample sizes. Maybe these developers should have read The Book, where it is clearly shown that hot and cold streaks have no predictive value.Comment

Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
True, it's not as valuable as it is in their NBA seires, that's for sure. I wouldn't get too worked up about it though. It's basically just a standard roster update feature with a fancy bullet-point moniker attached to it.The living rosters feature is a joke. Anyone with a lick of common sense should be able to realize that a player's talent level doesn't change on small sample sizes. and again, to reiterate, there is NO good reason why "living rosters" had anything to do with the stance editing missing. That's just more speculation. We don't know why it's missing...just that is sucks...lol.Comment

Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
Yeah, I'm not going to use the feature, anyways. 2kshare for me. I don't think it should be marketed as a great feature, when in reality, it defies common sense.Comment

Re: Why Do I Do This To Myself: I Have a Copy of MLB 2K9 (Q&A)
I just won the World Series in MLB 2K9 (in a Game 7) with the Angels in Playoff Mode.
I know 2K hyped it up but I don't see what there is to hype up.
It was just a whatever-type thing. The announcers said one or two unique things, a graphic flashed across the screen highlighting the series MVP, and that was that.
I don't see what the hype was about.I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.Comment

Yeah a video was released by one of the mods and it really isn't all that. How was the playoff atmosphere if I may ask?I just won the World Series in MLB 2K9 (in a Game 7) with the Angels in Playoff Mode.
