Re: GETTING FREE AGENCY TO WORK

That would be pretty sweet, although I feel bad making you do all the work . Especially considering you have a kid as well.

Ive started up a joint Royals/Marlins franchise, and Ive been playing a few games for each team so far. I adjusted sliders that work for me, so I'm just hoping it all works out eventually with the FA stuff (whether through a patch or having to restart to download a fixed version, which I would be willing to do.)

    We'll see.

Then, tell me how members are posting screenshots of this again with MLB 2K10? Ronny over at 2K Sports forums thought there wasn't a limit on editing. He's supposedly checking into it. It was his understanding that there was NO editing limits. However, that doesn't appear to be the case. :o

Re: GETTING FREE AGENCY TO WORK

From what I see, you can edit the roster/contracts on the normal game as like a "roster", now I'm assuming the reason you won't be uploading it is because you already started in your franchise, correct?

Because if you edited them out of the franchise you can save your roster and upload that.

Oh I see, the other poster said that would increase their budget. Got it.

Just a word of advice here, if you go through and edit all the contracts, you should definitely make a backup save or two. I finished editing all the contracts earlier tonight, and I was about to sim a season then I remembered auto save is on(don't know how to turn it off in franchise mode). Luckily I remembered that, or I'd have been screwed.

Any update if you can upload the franchise so not every single one of us has to redo the contracts everytime we start one?

Go to Options~~>Load Options~~>Load Save Options> You should find settings for on/off. Make sure you save profile and settings too.

Are you guys editing every MLB player's contract on the roster?

Mainly just the 25-man roster, but guys like Aroldis Chapman and Strasburg I edited too since they make a significant amount of money.

Now here's my one problem before I start going crazy and editing too.

Do the guys change their contract requests at the end of the year based off these reworked deals? I can't stand Johnny Damon wanting 5 years at $1.2 million per. That's just ridiculous.

No. That's the fundamental problem, and why I've stated to those who enter the FA signing period to copy down the names of FAs rated (say) 75 and above. Because they're going to sign cheap deals that won't reflect their worth, and a team will get a quality player very cheaply.

I plan on posting a salary scale that can help simplify this process, but it's the sort of 'maintenance' that you'll just have to get use to doing if you want to play a significant amount of seasons w/ this game. Because I doubt something of this magnitude will be fixed in the one patch that 2K has left; since they used one patch for the swing stick check swing...which I've yet to use BTW.

Thanks for your info on this, but that's huge for me, I don't want to do maintenance every single year. That is awful.

Either do I, but I do want to play a couple seasons at least.

I hear ya. That's a killer because I love doing multiple seasons. Before I use to only play maybe 40 games a season then do like 10-15 seasons.

                                Ugh.
