Anyone else thinking about PC version?

I'm seriously pondering buying this for PC. It's only gonna be $29.99 and I've had a pretty good experience with NBA 2k10 on my PC. Is there anyone else who's thinking about buying this on PC? I'm just having flashbacks about MVP and all the great mods it ended up with. Thoughts?

If I do buy it, the PC is the only way to go for me. At max settings, it looked better than the console version to me. Also a lot of the aesthetic issues (bad overlays, uniform and stadium errors) were able to be at least improved through mods for 2K9. Even the editing issues were able to be worked around as well.

If you have the system to support it and don't plan on playing online (no online functionality for PC) then it's really the best option out there.

Yeah, I'm not much if an onliner. Now do the guys at MVP Mods support this game? There were some guys who did killer work. About the resolution, I run PES2010 maxed all the way out at 1080p. NBA 2k10, I've had to mess with some detail settings, but I'm still running 1920x1080. I've got a Phenom9550 Quad and a Hd4670 with 8GB DDR2. I just hope that MLB's framerate is little more stable than NBA. That's my only gripe. But the "My Player" mode has me intrigued. And, overall, I'm finding myself more intrigued by the day about this game. It's sounding really interesting for $29.99. I just pray it doesn't get stepchild treatment like they did with NBA2k...

Yup...all the mods I used for it came either from MVP Mods or EA Mods. Those guys seem to have been dying to mod something other than MVP...lol. Some of the support died out after an initial surge because many were frustrated, but I imagine they'll be keeping their eyes out just like any of us.

Also, frame rate was not an issue for me with 2K9 on PC and VC said they worked even more to improve it, so I don't see that being a big issue.

As for support, the PC version got as much attention as the console version for patch stuff (though some could fairly argue neither got enough), but obviously fell short on stuff like roster updates (and stuff sneaked in through them) due to the lack of online support.

I tried the PC version last year too and it was a significantly better than the 360 version in terms of graphics and framerate. Nice thing is you can plug in a 360 controller and have the same fluid motions for pitching and batting as you would get on the console.

            Hi Brian,

Yes, I'm in the same boat. I purchased 2K9 last year and this year I will be getting 2K10 PC. I have a an Intel E8400 duo-core and a 9800GT Nvidia card with 4 megs of ram and it ran great!...I hope 2K10 will be the same and run smooth as 2K9.

Yes, the guys at MVP Mods are wonderfull!, and they make some great addons/mods for PC baseball games

            Can't wait!!

            peace!

you know if they made it for a mac, i would be all over it regardless of the quality of the game. I used to be knee deep into modding stadiums for mvp baseball and wish I could still do that stuff but there is no mac version.

Yeah, I have the 360 for PC. I use it on both PES and NBA2k. That's one thing, besides graphics, that has me really getting pulled back into PC gaming. I have the same controller now as with my 360. Whats funny is that I actually got NBA2k for PC for 9.55, shipping included. And I've played it for 5 days straight. If my experience with MLB is in any way similar, it's worth it to drop 30 on it. I'll gamble on a half price game that will look 2x as good and have modding capabilities to boot!

Just realize that PC games are like a red headed step-child for 2k. The folks over at the 2ksports NBA forum have been waiting for an NBA2k10 patch since last year! Your call.

Yeah, I know. But I just got it and am having fun with it, so much so I sold the "other"game. It'll be out by the end of the month. Hopefully, there won't be any real killer issues with MLB. I am kinda worried about the "check swing" as 2k has already said that it's gonna be a day one patch. Does that mean the patch will be there for PC day one, as well? or just consoles... To digress to NBA2k again, all I really care about is the AI being tweaked and maybe some framerate performance improvements. The online fiasco doesn't really affect me, but I can see how it would tick off a lot of people.... But I do just hope that they work a little more on coding for high-end PC's with this game. With NBA 2k it's painfully obvious they just did a straight port with no optimization for duals or quads. I tried to even use my 16gb flash drive to "ready-boost" performance and it actually ran worse.....

My plate will be so full in the next few months that delaying the PC purchase of MLB 2k10 makes sense for me. I just hope 2k starts improving their support for the PC platform.

I would definitely consider it if I had a better laptop or PC. Since I don't, ill settle for the console version.

Had the PC version last year, persuaded me to get the PS3 version. PC version was way prettier but controls were not nearly as tight. Went to the PS3 version because I was enjoying the game and wanted to get the patch, but they later released it for the PC version anyway.

This year I will probably go PC version and see if it is good enough to later move to the PS3 one.
