Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread

I have already made a post about the stamina thing, but it got kind of ignored. The AI is unfortunately really bad with stamina, as I am a starting pitcher and have 3 complete games and a game of 10 inn and a game of 11 inn in my first 7 starts.

Just made the major league debut today with the Brewers. a 67 overall with a sub par fast ball, weak changeup, decent splitter and good knuckle curve. Good news was I played the Nationals, and although I consider myself a very smart and good pitcher as far as knowing how to pitch batters and what not, it was way too easy.

    Final line:

CG, 9 H, 1 ER (in the first inning, cake after that), 0 BB, 14K! (Including 7 in a row at one point), 110 pitches and a W.

If this is my debut, I will easily be on pace to be the best pitcher of all time haha. I love my player, but no way I should dominate like that as one of the worst rated pitchers in the league!

SEASON Number 2 with the REDSOX - RF

          Season 1 - Played only 47 games for the team and batted .297 Avg, 9Hrs, 35 RBI's
          Season 2 - Played 24 Games so far, .416 Avg, 5Hrs, 16 RBI's

I played a total of 54 AA games before being called up to the Majors.
Minor League numbers .340 Avg, 6 Hrs, and 37 RBI's

At this moment I'm rated a 84 with 85's all across my offensive numbers and Speed at 83 with Arm Strength at 86.

I also have a picture for the GIANTS that just got called up after going 5-1 in the Minors with 47K's and an Era of 1.45 - Haven't played my first MLB game which is against the DODGERS.

First year starting pitcher with the Anahiem Angels. Got called up after my 11th start (I intentionally didn't fulfill some tasks so I wouldn't be called up too early and get owned by the big leaguers)
Got called up in the end of August after going 10-0 with a 1.4something ERA and more than 10k/9 innings. I'll be putting up the difficulty though (had it low to get used to the game) for my time in the majors.

            Rated 72.
            2 seam fastball - 63
            12-6 Curve - 68 (best pitch)
            Change up - 62
Cutter (just bought it) - 59

After I improve those pitches a little more I'll be buying either a screwball, sinker or a splitter, but I'm leaning towards splitter. Anyone with any good ideas?

My CF got called up from AA Carolina Mudcats to the Reds. I played about 35 games in AA, batted around .320 with 3 HR's and 20+ RBI's.

First MLB at bat was a single and I ended going 3-4 in my debut. After 3 games in the majors I'm hitting over .300 with 4 RBI and a double. They do have me playing LF and I really botched some balls in that first game. The Reds are only 4 or 5 games out so maybe I can spark them to a run.

I hadn't played a game with the commentary before I played this my player game after I got called up. WOW! It was so awesome to hear them talk about my guy and his first at bat in the majors and talk about getting a hit in my first at bat. They also talked about where I played in the minors and what I did there. That may be my favorite part of the game right there. I'm really enjoying this game mode. It's delaying the start of my franchise.

If you're not already playing on Legend, then try it out. No way you have a complete game on that level.

I created a pitcher and was taken by the Giants and I went to the big leages after about 8 starts by completing all the requirements. Big mistake, I got shelled.

This time I was taken by the M's and I have left Stamina intentionally at 64 so I won't be called up until I polish out my other skills. Since you can complete a game or at least pitch deep into one w/ a poor stamina rating, this strategy works. About a month and a 1/2 left in AA and I'm a 70 overall with four pitches working on a 5th.

Question for other pitchers: How do you get called up to AAA? Is it random? I'm pitching really well, played in the futures game, but it just seems like I'm one stamina point away from the MLB and that's about it. I'm 9-1 with a 1.87 era and a .284 opposing batting ave...whip of 1.15 or something. Just on Pro difficulty.

Left Fielder/1B on the Indians roster. Batting .264 with 15HRs and 45RBI in 44 Games

Only issue is that the pitcher seems the catch everything hit up the middle.

Anyone else have their heart skip a beat and get a huge blood rush while on first and the pitcher makes a pick-off move. The move is so fast and they usually do it while you're in the middle of your second lead-off step and it freaks me out every single time. When Im not going to steal I don't even look at the pitcher anymore because it must be bad for my health lol.

maybe it's just me, but for some reason it's taylor made to startle me every time.

My CF (who now plays LF) has now played 8 games in the majors and is hitting .400 with 0 homers and 7 RBI. I never hit this well in AA. Granted I am pretty much hitting all singles right now, but I'm still pumped about this. Obviously if I continue to hit this well I will probably bump up the difficulty, but for some reason I feel I've been lucky so far and will hit a slump soon.

I found myself talking bad about Dusty Baker b/c he wouldn't pinch hit for the pitcher or sacrifice bunt when there were men on 1st and 2nd(me) with no outs in a 0-0 game in the 6th inning. I was ticked. I have found myself really trying to do well so the Reds can win games, whereas in the minors I was just focused on getting to the show, not winning games. I like that. Just wish a sac bunt would happen every once in a while in my player mode. I've seen HR's when I'm on base, but never seen a bunt.

Great now my career won't load.

Nothing appears to be working, the file isn't corrupt on the Xbox Dashboard, I cleared the cache nothing. All other modes work.

It says Loading Successful, then the sound cuts out, and it goes to Loading, please wait.

This mode is fantasitic! After a few games of struggling, my center fielder for Detroit AA has caught fire. After 20 games im 287 7 hrs 19 rbi and bout 8 walks. Ill get the call up shortly, just have to bump up fielding. Its amazing how well they implemented tracking fly balls for this.

Has anyone been named a top prospect in their system?

So, am I forced to increase my power to 60+? I currently have 71 contact and 62 eye versus righties. I've reached all other goals except power. However, after 15+ games, I'm still in AA and hitting way above call up goals. This is disappointing. I do not want to create a power hitter. Hitting .365+ with a .425+ OBP is not good enough? Only problem is my 1 SB in 8 attempts. LoL. I guess I need acceleration?
