Discovered a HUUUUUGE Glitch last night while playing MLB Today, opening day games.

Whenever a ball was hit into the left center gap, the center fielder will field the ball, and throw it back into the infield in the direction of second base. The entire CPU team stops moving, allowing the ball to sail over the 2nd basemans head, all the way to the backstop. No cpu player attempts to retrieve the ball, so it results in an automatic in the park homerun.

This happened to me 5-6 times in one game of Yankees/Sox MLB Today, and also happened in several play now games using the MLB Today rosters. Not sure what is causing this as I've never seen it before. Definitely a game killer though.

Yep, been happening to me as well. Quite a bit too. It's not just mlb today or opening day games though. Happens in any game for me. And doesn't matter where it's hit. I've had it happen on throws to 3rd base the most.

Definitely loving this game until this issue popped up. It's a major bummer as I have no clue how this happened or why it just started happening.

Freezing.There's no way around this. I can't get past pre-game introductions without my entire xbox locking up.


The game is unplayable due to this. Not sure if they are addressing this issue in the patch or not.

I might trade this broken game and my xbox for a ps3.

Do you have the game saved to your hard drive? And how old is your Xbox? The problem is, I don't think freezing is a very widespread problem. I have seen some complaints about it, but there are far too many people posting impressions and about sliders and rosters for me to believe that it is a problem with the game itself.

I'm running the game on a fairly new Arcade unit I bought to replace my red-ringed 360, and it has the Jasper chipset. It run quiet and perfectly. I have the game saved to a 120 gig hard drive I had bought for the last 360.

All I can say is that I'm not getting any freezes at all. So my guess is that your 360's DVD drive may be getting bad. Not all games use the drive in the same way, so some games seem worse than others.

trust me the other game ain't much better if your complaining about a thing like this...

I think it's more annoying to get freezes while you play. That way you lose everything you've done, including consumed time. It's that kind of thing that makes you throw the controller.

I scored 3 runs in the top of the 10 to make it a 4-1 game. I put David Aardsma in to close the game and he did, however he didn't get credit for a save when he should have.

Okay, here is a freeze glitch. Well I was trying to play through 20 games in Franchise so I would be eligible for some achievements but I didn't have much time to play. So I made the game 3 innings. I was the Cubs and the other team was the Reds. I would get through 2 innings just fine and then when I got to a specific batter (#5 for the Reds) three times in a row while he was walking up to the batter's box, it froze. I don't know why, it just shows him standing there getting ready to bat and it just freezes my entire box. I have had it happen more than just this though, anyone else have this problem of freezing when an opponent batter comes to the plate?

BTW, has anyone played MP and experience any day-offs? (if you are a position player) And has anyone experience any line-up changes? (facing right hand pitchers vs. left hand pitchers)

I haven't yet for both in My Player mode.

Just had another one. Sweeney from Oakland hits a grounder than deflects off my pitcher Ian Snell. Snell fields it, makes the throw to second called out, but the throw to first isn't in time. For some reason Davis (who was on first after a hit) stays on second and I don't get credit for an out. I looked at the replay and the SS foot was on the bag and it has Sweeney on the lineup card as retired by fielders choice. I got an error as well. Ridiculous. So instead of a man on first and 1 out I have guys on first and second with no outs. Very irritating and I know it's going to cost me a run.

Sounds like a corrupted roster file.

i found that when u try to throw a 2-seam fastball, it goes to the spot that u have the ball at and not where u expect the movement to go

Not really a glitch, I think... but....

when the human pitcher is at the plate, the opposing pitcher ALWAYS throws strikes. I have yet to see a pitch out of the zone to the pitcher. The result is that you get easy strikes to hit, and some of my pitchers are hitting .400 after April, lol.

things i've noticed, but i'm sure have been discussed

cpu paints the corner at will, and that's not me whining, on all-star they do not miss on close pitches

DL does not work, ex. Prado was on the 60 day DL for the Braves, but managed to come in as a defensive replacement two games in a row against me

cpu does not change lineups

cpu seems to only send down when they sign a free agent to big league roster, haven't seen a call up at all

i'll think of some more things i've noticed later
