I might pick up the game after it is patched and people claim it is a playable game. Besides the quirks which you can try and close your eyes about, the game is decent but when AI logic is trash then it becomes unplayable
I saw that video Giants. That was some straight junk. Not only did that pitcher bat, he ended up being the losing pitcher when a walk off homer ended the game in the 14th inning. So not only did he bat in the 10th, it's possible that he batted again.

But yeah, it's just Pasta clowning a 2K product.

Sounds like an easy solution to me.

As for spending money on games with bugs lets not forget about the "other games" hundred or more page thread last year called the "work around" thread.

Yea all games have bugs, but this is not a bug. It is the AI logic in the game

And switching to the other side to make the change means your profile would be altered and the stats would not record.

If you think that is a good way to endorse the gamer then so be it.

But not for the other 99% that make up the gaming industry

Maybe next year the runs you score will count for the cpu and at the end of the game you can switch teams and get the win. Sounds like a plan for your liking

Ok we get it. You've made it painfully clear for days that you don't like the game and you're selling it. Good thing you don't have to worry about any of these game killing glitches since you have the "other" game.

This dead horse has been beaten to death.

Any chance we could keep the impressions to people who currently own the game and are actually playing it?

EDIT: and +1 to what Jistic said.

I own both games MLB 2k11 and MLB11 show and I'm having more fun playing 2k11 I'm loving the hit variety and people say the show has the whole package but I see no hit variety at all it's either a ground ball out or a pop up yes the game is beautiful but 2k looks good also if they can patch the small bugs in the game it will be a very solid effort on 2k sports this year people kill me downing a good game the show has bugs also but everyone looks past it because they always say oh the graphics are awesome but when I'm playing the show I really feel no difference in players while batting nor pitching yes they capture the game right but what about me feeling the difference in players but 2k does a great job at doing this

If you don't own the game, I'm not really sure why you're in here posting about the game. You don't have any Impressions to share so leave it alone.

Just got the game from Gamefly today and have played several games and I must say at this early stage that this one is a keeper. Graphics doesn't make me forget the other game, not the smoothest playing game, but I keep coming back to this one. At this early juncture it's just more enjoyable to me. Like the fielding. In my eyes you can tell who's a gold glover and who isn't. Like the pitching. Can tell the first starter from the fourth and fifth starter in terms of ability. Like the hitting. Much more responsive this year (I use classic hitting). Love the commentary and presentation. Only disappointment thus far is the slight stutter in play whenever there's a pop up. I'm not saying a week from now something will not crop up that irritates me but for now I'd rather play this one.

I have been going back and forth about this since Tuesday. I had originally pre-ordered 2K11 because I liked the demo better than the "other" demo. But I kept telling myself, "You can't possibly like 2K11 over the other game!". Then, when I went to pick uo 2K11, the clerk told me about how the other game was better. I told him I knew all about it, but I caved anyway and got the "other" game.

Now I am thinking I made a mistake. Don't get me wrong, the "other" game is great, but I have been playing it since '06 and even though they do a great job with upgrades, it feels the same to me. I am about to just go buy 2K11 as well, but it's hard to justify the purchase. I am afraid to trade in the "other" game because I am not certain 2K11 will be the better game... I guess I could try to rent it...

I was going to say the same thing. Almost all posts i've seen from Giants4natic is bashing this game. Hopefully some of these bugs can be fixed via patch.

you'd never know that the majority of gamers seem to have mostly positive things to say about this game when you look at the number of positive/negative opinions in this thread... until you realize that 90% of the negative posts have been by one dude

I pre-ordered the "other game" b/c I figured 2K would some how, some way, mess their game up. At the moment I'm regretting my decision. I've played the other game since '07 and as you said it feels the same. Maybe familiarity breeds contempt? Right now at least i favor this game over the other. It plays a good game, feels "newer", and just has more fun packed into it.

I got a couple of questions for some of you veterans as far as hitting is concerned. I'm using the All-Star User/Pro A.I. method and am really enjoying the game a whole lot more. I've come to grips with the fact that I'm just not that good at this game yet, after really only playing My Player in 2K10 and mostly playing The Show the last few years.

Anyways, my question is regarding the whole Contact/Power swing. I find that using Power swing results in a fly ball or popup about 75% of the time, a line drive 20% of the time and a ground ball about 5%. But when I use Contact, the hit variety is out of this world. So, my two-parter is this: what sliders would you recommend for using only Contact swing? And b) would I just be better off using Classic swing?

Since moving to this latest slider set I'm using, my enjoyment of this game has gone through the roof and it was already high before. Just want to iron out this final detail with hitting because, I'll be honest, this game's Franchise mode looks like its EXACTLY what I'm looking for in its simple approach on the surface to prospects, progression/regression and injuries but its deep execution of all those things under the hood.

Guys, keep it on Impressions about MLB 2K.

No need to talk about another member, even if you disagree with his posts. I asked him to let it be, now it's your turn to let it be.

Also, no one is kidding anyone else when you say "The other game." I'm not sure if members think this is a safe way to talk about "the other game" but it's painfully obvious what you're trying to say.

Now, I don't necessarily find any of the above comments in the wrong. I'm just pointing out what everyone is already thinking: saying "the other game" doesn't make the post more bearable to read.
