Re: MLB 2k12 - Impressions Thread (PS3/X360)
You'll get used to it. And yup, classic hitting is fine. Just hit another HR with Kemp and also went 5-5 with 4 triples with Ethier. Really enjoying this game.Comment

4 triples, lol, that would be a major league record. actually, that would tie the MLB record set by Bill Joyce in 1897.Comment

Yeah. Hoping I don't see it again. Hit some gappers in petco park and one of them the outfielder dove and came up empty which allowed me to reach third. Again, hope it's an anomaly.Comment

still couldnt hit anything in 5 innings on rookie. got one bloop hit. just cant seem to time it right with the analog. i need a good camera view I think. i dunno. thats what happened last year couldnt hit. ive hit one hr on the demo and thats it. i also play with the cubs that might be why. I just dont know. :/ im actually thinking about selling this game because I cannot hit the ball at all on any level. also im not using the left analog when hitting just the right. maybe thats why. always worked fine in previous games. just lost here.Comment

Re: MLB 2k12 - Impressions Thread (PS3/X360)
I skipped buying this game last year, so obviously 2k12 is a big step up from the 2k10 I've been playing. I've read a lot of people saying that the hitting is too hard... I think that the more you play the easier it will become. I've started a Brewers franchise mode on pro difficulty, and I've hit three homers in three games with Rickie Weeks. I think its important that you mix up your contact and power swings if you're struggling with the hitting aspect of the game.Comment

After another night and a patch for the PS3 (yeah!), I am very happy.
The lighting is so much better than 2k11. The past 2 days I've played games in Miller Park in the day, afternoon, and night. Each one was 100% easier to look at than last year when the shadows were way too dark.
The new throwing meter is a giant step up as well, and it works! Throwing on the run give you less room to make a solid throw, while standing in place gives you a giant green area to make an accurate throw.
I think my bunting issue from the night before was me hitting the right thumbstick after the ball was in play, causing the lead runner to try for an extra base. So no obvious bugs yet, which is a pleasant surprise.Comment

My 3 HRs in the 2 games I played were on classic. The first game was on whatever default is and the second game I maxed it. It was Cody Ross,John Buck and Mike Stanton that hit them so you don't need the super high rating to produce them.Comment

I know most people on OS don't play quick games online, but I had to come on here and gush about a new feature in online play. In 2k12 all other starting pitchers are tired. Meaning you can't start Halladay and then relieve him with Lee and Hamels. Well actually you can, but they are very ineffective. What does everyone think of this?Comment

Re: MLB 2k12 - Impressions Thread (PS3/X360)
i played my first several franchise games with total control hitting and had zero hrs in 5 or 6 ST and Reg Season games. 5 on Pro Default and one on All Star. i was wondering if i needed to increase the power slider.
well, my first game with All Star Defaylt and Classic Hitting and i hit two HR's with guys i rarely if ever hit HRs in last seasons game.
for me, i may just stick to all star default and let the dynamic stuff take over.Comment
