Re: MLB 2K12 Feedback Thread (For Future Patch)

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, I am too lazy to read every post in this thread...

Please fix the way the CPU manages all 29 teams in franchise mode...I am tired of top players for the CPU teams getting hurt, getting sent down to AAA and NEVER getting called back up and whats even worse when you go thru all the off season tasks and start a new season, those very same players that the CPU sent to AAA are still in AAA..

Carlos Gonzalez, Robinson Cano, Mark Texiera, Adam Dunn, Alex Gordon, David Ortiz, Nick Markakis, David Freese, Geovany Soto and many others have been in the CPU controlled teams AAA roster for over a year now and are healthy players...

Kinda takes the fun out of the game when some of the best players are in AAA and guys rated 65-70 are in the Majors batting .210...

Thats just one of the main problems I see, another one is the fact that at the end of the year, there is only 5 or 6 guys that have hit for over .300 for the season...I have even went and adjusted almost every players contact for hitting....There are guys that are 90+ contact that are hitting .240 for the season..Really makes no sense..

Hope this gets read and fixed, I purposely didnt buy the last 2 versions of this game in hopes that these types of things would be fixed and yet here we are with the same problems...

The gameplay and many of the features are excellent, but its little things like what I have mentioned that seem to never get fixed or updated from year to year and it makes me realize you guys at 2k sports will never put out a perfect game ( in any sport )...

We are getting no communication from 2K about this patch. Cant get Ronnie and LD2K to respond to tweets about it. Whats going on ? hopefully steve could perhaps bring some attention to this on twitter and maybe get a response.

maybe its been mentioned before but i have the impression that there are very many glitches this year when it comes to baserunning, both mine and of the cpu, like i the baserunner keeps running towards 2 eventho i ordered him back to 1. then it happened that they were autohold where it was was obvious they it wasnt the right call. also the cpu makes mistakes. more than last year for sure. did somebody else recognize it?

Yeah, many made others those observations, too.

Would love to see the auto-fielding inside-the-park HR glitch addressed, as well smartening up the CPU's late game pinch-hitting. At this point it's a "pick your poison" with regards to fielding. Either go with auto-fielding and pray that the glitch never happens, or use manual fielding and deal with the multitude of ineptness involved in that setup.

                I'll keep my finger's crossed.

This is not a bug, but a fail in the rules... Batters are getting RBIs even when they're hitting for double play... c'mon, at least get the rules right...

                    Couple of my player bugs.

                    1. The pause screen game summary does not show info until the CPU has thrown a pitch during the current AB. If the bases are loaded when I come up, it would be nice to see what happened without having to take a pitch first (worked fine last year)

                    2. When I come to bat and my goal is hit and run, the CPU runner never attempts to steal (worked fine last year too)

With some new pitchers the pitch types get RED way too fast. You can not pitch with those guys. You will give up one hit after another. Mixing pitch types does not help. This happens e.g. with Darvish or Smyly and you can do nothing against it. Happens with dynamic player ratings ON.

PLEASE make the CPU pinch-hit for the relief pitcher in appropriate situations. Actually, I'm not sure I've ever seen the CPU pinch hit for ANYONE. I've seen plenty of pinch runners, though. Also, having more realistic (smarter) pitching changes would be nice. Just because one RP does well in the 6th inning doesn't mean he should automatically pitch the 7th, 8th and 9th until he gives up multiple hits and runs. Matchups and roles should matter.

I've seen some pinch hitters with edited ratings. The CPU sets up pinch hitters appropriate to the opposing pitchers and thinks about them being LHP or RHP. But I also saw dumb things, too. E.g. the setup pitcher batting in the 8th and then the closer pitching in the 9th. WTF? ^^

A really dumb thing yesterday. I hit the ball right to the mound and hit the pitcher on his leg. The ball lied there. Once the ball was in the hands of the SS who threw me out. ???

Slow between first and second base, batter starts running. 1B man runs towards the ball, SP runs towards first base. 1B man takes the ball and throws it to SP, 1B man runs towards the runner, SP throws it back to 1B man who tags the runner out!?

AI needs more mount visits and more intelligent decisions. I saw several times via inside edge that a pitcher was completely rattled and the AI did nothing.

E.g. I played a game with the Rays against the Red Sox. Their SP was Doubront. He threw 4 perfect innings. With no outs he gave up a hit and walked someone to start the 5th. I looked into inside edge and he was half rattled. I managed to make another hit and 1 runner came in. Then he was completely rattled. Then there was an out with baserunners advancing. Still completely rattled. Another out, but one run scored. Still completely rattled. Then he walked someone, still completely rattled. Got the third out via a K. Still completely rattled. After this inning his pitch count was yellow.

Normally Doubront would have gotten a mound visit or would even have been pulled. But the AI let him start the 6th inning and he was still nealry completely rattled. Why?

Seeing as how the series was officially cancelled today, I think you can pretty much forget about a patch.
