    Re: Franchise Trade Talk

^^^ Pretty good read, and I think the trades are perfectly fair and all that.

I'm looking for a good established young player. I got a ton that i'm willing to deal off. Here's what i'm willing to part ways with.

    SP, Age: 20, Pot: 5*, Ovr: 82
    SP, Age: 21, Pot: 5*, Ovr: 74
    CF, Age: 23, Pot: 5*, Ovr: 75
    2B, Age: 18, Pot: 5*, Ovr: 72

I was thinking about getting rid of the top pitcher and either the other pitcher or the CF for someone like Mike Trout

Thanks for your comments! And, wow, that would be a realistic deal. That 20yo 5* prospect who's overall is 82 is better than Trout overall wise (20yo 5* but 80 overall) and since they have 3 starting outfielders and lack a good 5th starter, they will just make the trade, they would have a rotation with Weaver, Haren, Wilson, Santana and your prospect.... which is amazing. I don't think you need to add an extra player to this deal, a straight up 1 for 1 deal is good enough.

Anyone know who I could get for Jason Vargas? I'm just trying to deal him to call up one of my young prospects.

I think it's fair. He's a bit of an unknown at this point against big league pitching, but he's straight raking against AAA pitching.

Hmm well I don't think you can get much for Vargas to be honest, I don't have his in-game and real stats in front of me but I think you can get an OK reliever or a good bench player; either one that can give you a good pinch hit off the bench, a Utility or a super-utility player like a Jerry Hariston Jr. or a guy who can pinch run like Julio Borbon, Craig Gentry, etc.... Or a 3-4 star prospect maybe. In this deal it seems tha you just want to offload him, and basically shopping him around...... Just my thoughts ^^

A trade that I'm thinking of is:

Juan Rivera, LF and Matt Treanor, C

              for

              Alfonso Soriano, LF(Cubs)

Is this a fair trade? or does anyone have any other suggestions. Thanks
I'm with the Dodgers and also have this problem. Sands is a good hitter but lacks the speed needed for LF to be effective. Gwynn is fast but he can't hit worth crap. Rivera is a slug out there...Good luck getting that trade.

If I go to Trade finer for Adrian Gonzalez the Phillies offer me Halladay. But if I go to make a deal manually oppose to Trade Finder it would never happen because hes untouchable. Halladay is 2-1 with a 2.20 ERA. Why do certain Pitchers trend go down around the Age of 30 while Pitcher like Halladay ( 34 ) trend stays the same, it makes no sense. Take Rich Harden as an example.

A lot of pitchers start to hit the wall around 30...take Rich Harden for example. He's had a bunch of injuries and surgeries and isn't the same hard thrower he once was. He is trending downward big time. Halladay, has been healthy for the most part and has had a lot of success in his 30s.

His style of pitching really won't decline as quickly as a power pitcher with injury trouble like Harden because Halladay relies on location and movement to get outs, not hard fastballs. Once Harden can't throw hard, he will be much less effective (its already happened)

Made 2 trades so far. Morrow & Lind for Holland and Harrison. My other trade was Cecil & Cooper for Ichiro. Don't plan on making any other trades unless I'm in the playoff race.

                      Re: Franchise Trade Talk

Made a few trades with my Mariners franchise:

I didn't want Smoak's horrible contact so stuck him on the market and got offered Jaime Garcia which I accepted to give Felix a valid number 2.

Also stuck Gutierrez on the market and got offered James McDonald who I'm hoping will get better over the next few seasons and turn into a good number 2 or 3. And I gave Kawasaki to the Mets in a straight swap for Duda who will platoon with Chone in RF.

I'm hoping my young hitters like Montero and Ackley will turn into great players for years to come, and my newly solid rotation should hold up well.

Also got fed up with League blowing saves (about 5 in the first month) so sent him and a AAA pitcher to the Jays for Santos (who was only in a SU role for them) who should provide stability to an otherwise pretty weak pen.

I would like a decent 1B or SS (Carp is ok, but horrible defensively, opposite with Ryan) but can't think of any great trades at the moment, will likely draft for them.

Since the Twins are lacking big time in the pitching department I decided to find myself two pitchers for one good player. I gave the Rangers Josh Willingham (Bad bad mistake) for Scott Feldman and Mark Lowe. I was happy to get two pitchers with a mid 70s rating for a power hitter like Willingham. At least I still have Justin Morneau who actually was able to stay healthy for 130 games.

Can anyone do me a small favor by telling me how you can get CarGo in a fair way? Like I know I would have to "force trade" but what players would be fair to give to Colorado for CarGo? Like how many 5* prospects/80+ Overall players etc.? Thanks

Oakland.... I will probably move brett anderson (I still have Mr. Parker waiting in AAA) and I have A.J Cole as well, and I drafted two pitchers with 5* potantial, one has high 70's overall and age 19, so he would be on my team next season, so I can still move more prospects.... I don't mind moving Jemial Weeks either... I have short term solutions at 2B for now... I might trade for Yunel Escobar and move Pennington to 2B.
