Not sure if this helps at all, but I didn't really play the game at all until recently. When I had Living Rosters ON and Autosave OFF, I had no problems. Once I switched those around, it froze for me every time. Haven't actually gone back and tested that since the freezing started, but I found it odd that it worked at first.

that has no bearing on things... this is completely tied to the MLB TODAY loadup at the beginning of the game. There are no games, thus it freezes. The workaround I provided is what will work. Your autosave and living rosters will have NO bearing on anything related to this freeze.

Thanks for this guys. Decided to make the 1992 Blue Jays yesterday after not playing this game in a while and this happened. I couldn't figure it out. Came here hoping someone had the answer and viola! Thanks again guys.

this is such a damn pain in the *** everytime just to play this game im not buying anything from 2k anymore if its the only game of that sport cause nba year after year has glitches that should of been tested and now mlb and y arnt they getting fixed? because they are the only company making this sport so they just wait til the next game well im done with both of these titles nhl had its glitches but nothing like this and y? cause they had to compete with ea on that sport and because they took the time to fix the major glitches i still play that over ea

Is this still a problem if you aren't connected to the internet and just play offline?

You're fine if you are not connected to the internet. To my understanding, if you delete your current save files and get the latest it will start working online as well.

I'd strongly suggest backing up those saved files. Sorry, but your suggestion of deleting saved files didn't work for me and I got screwed in this deal - had to go through and recreate everything. I had not heard this, so I'd be VERY cautious before doing so. The problem is the MLB Today - there's no games played, and 2K won't fix this. People saying to just delete files - well, it's not working because THAT is NOT the issue causing the screen freeze at the loadup.

Did you delete the files in the past week or when the crash started happening? The fix was implemented when the servers went down, but it requires the save files to be deleted to get the MLB Today date synced back up.

when I go into my saves (360 hard drive) there is no save showing up outside of MY rosters, my profile and my settings - nothing else. I'm not deleting that stuff. What I know is that I tried to fire up this game the other day as normal, and it froze yet again.

So from my understanding, you need a clean profile to getting it working again (delete everything). Once you're in once, it should be GTG from then on. Obviously, you want nothing to do with deleting everything since you've been doing so much work with roster building and sliders. Which makes you the perfect guinea pig. Could you do me a big favor and try two things?

1) Create a new 360 profile and then boot MLB. If it doesn't crash (due to the save files from your other profile), then you should be able to get around the loading screen crash and hopefully sign out and in to get to your regular profile.

2) If that works, go into your profile, save EVERYTHING as something else, reset everything to default, save them, and reboot. Then hopefully once you're in once, the core issue is solved and you can load up whatever you're working on and continue.

Note: If it crashes when you switch profiles in step 1, try getting in by disconnected from the internet and then saving and resetting everything as default.

If all else fails, unfortunately it might come to deleting everything and then downloading your rosters and sliders for 2K share. I hope not, but the threat is there.

I would like a WHOLE LOT MORE confirmation on this before I go deleting stuff... I just find this hard to believe. It's not tied to profiles, but the MLB TODAY calendar that won't update. It freezes because 2K hasn't fixed the issue where the calendar IS the problem, so that would seem more tied to the date/time of your 360 than any gamesaves. Sorry, I'm not trying to be difficult, I just don't believe this. The clown I spoke with at 2K a few weeks ago gave me the same line of crap, and did NOT work.

If more people can confirm this I'll comply. But I'm not going to be the guinea pig because I have too many saves that I don't want lost.

I tried deleting all my game saves (roster, settings, EVERYTHING) for the game, and then it still didn't work!

...because that's not the problem. The screwed up MLB Today date is... This is entirely on 2K's end, not ours...

yes i agree with mk on this its the stupid mlb today calender i cant believe they arnt fixing this by now i love 2k but if this issue doesnt get fixed im not buying another product from them cause this is rediculous theres still half a year before the new one even comes out so theres no reason this shouldnt b fixed
