In 2k12, I'm 105-55 with my Indians. Down to the last series vs. ChiSox who are leading the wild card race by 2 games. Time to ruin their season.

Re: MLB 2K13: The Franchise Mode Thread
So as I have been playing my franchise, I have begun to mentally keep track of various players that I absolutely dominate or completely struggle against. I don't think this is an unusual trend, but if any of you have had similar observations during your playing experiences, feel free to share them!
For me, one of the most frustrating players to get out is Adam Jones. The guy just CANNOT miss a pitch! I recently played a series against Baltimore and I think I got him out twice, and both were fly ball outs along the warning track. He jacked a couple of homeruns off me, countless singles, and a double. I gave up in the fourth game and resorted to simply walking him intentionally, once that resulted in loading the bases (I didn't care at that point!). Other hitters that terrorize my pitchers are Josh Hamilton, Jacoby Ellsbury, David Murphy, and Alex Rios. As for pitchers that I struggle against, the worst culprit is Michael Pineda! Sheesh, I can't tell if his pitches are going to break low-and-away, and I end up swinging and missing like half the time! He's a stud!
What about the rest of you? Are there any hitters/pitchers you struggle against? Or dominate?Comment

Swept the ChiSox. Onto the ALCS vs. Yankees I'm up 3-0 right now. Game one was a great game we won 6-4 after being down 2-4 and ACab hit a huge 3 run shot. Game two was a extra inning game 3-2. Game three we were down 2-4 and I get a walk against Rivera and a lucky double literally down the line that scores a run and then another blooper to tie it. We won 6-4. Wooot.Comment

My chise: Diamondbacks moneyball method. Just started the second year after 79-83 in the first. I have TOO MANY Outfield prospects—4, and I acquired Lorenzo Cain. 1-1 to start the season, just lost a 13-inning heartbreaker to the Padres...

As for the lineup question, I think a classic one would be:
Ellisbury
Pedroia
Hamilton
Braun
Texiera
Butler
Zimmermann
Lucroy

Re: MLB 2K13: The Franchise Mode Thread
My Twins franchise in just 3 weeks of the season has so many injuries I've got the FAKE minor league names called up to the majors..lost 2 pitchers and 4 fielders already to the disabled list.. 3 of them diving back to third base on ground balls up the middle..
Mauer of course gets hurt every year it seems for real .. he was the first injury since they've got him as a chronic injury the rest have all been stupid stuff.. I may just go find the injury slider and put it way down to just have a realistic lineup. Of course my 2k13 version can actually win games where the Twins are I think up to 10 straight losses now? Hard to be a Twins fan!View Through My Lens sports photography

Re: MLB 2K13: The Franchise Mode Thread
Hey guys, this is my first thread in a while, it's going to be long so bear with me here! I started a rebuild with the Miami Marlins. Baisically wht I did was trade the couple good players with other players for better players, and I packaged together younger guys for better guys. My record through April has been 19-3, I play every game. Here is my team;
C-Willin Rosario
1B-Ike Davis
2B-Derek Dietrich
SS-Starlin Castro
3B-Mark Trumbo
RF-Giancarlo Stanton
CF-Jacoby Ellsbury
LF-Cristian Yelich
SP1- Matt Harvey
SP2- Chris Archer
SP3- Jose Fernandez
SP4- Dylan Bundy
SP5- Ricky Nolasco
Bench:
C-Rob Brantley
1B-Logan Morrison
2B-Josh Rutledge
LF-Andruw Jones
RF-Marcell Ozuna
Bullpen includes Jacob Turner, Jon Rauch, Steve Chisek, a couple other guys, too. I have a couple 1/5 stars pitching prospects and a couple 2/4 batting prospects. As you can see I like power and speed. I like Castro but he either stinks or I stink with him. If he doesn't improve in the next couple games, can you give me some suggestions of who I should trade him for? Any ideas or questions in general?

Re: MLB 2K13: The Franchise Mode Thread
The injuries I've mentioned have gotten so bad for my Twins that I've only had 5 players play all 17 games since I started the season. I had to pick up Jose Lopez (Rockies free agent) because I lost 2 3rd basemen to injuries and will just demote the fake player when the DL time ends I guess. Still waiting for them to have Justin Morneau get injured now that Willingham has a bruised hip.. gonna just put him as a DH and see what happens. Not even the real Twins, as bad as they are, are THIS injuredView Through My Lens sports photography

A suggestion in general would be it might be more fun/competitive without cheesing the trade AI, just my opinion.

If it's on 15ish, that many injuries sucks.Comment

Re: MLB 2K13: The Franchise Mode Thread
I was just wondering about fantasy draft in franchise mode - if anyone else has ever tried what I do.
I go through a fake draft and then write down where people go that I want to get, and I try to keep most if not all my players really young ones. For instance, when I drafted, I went Bumgarner/Yoenis/Desmond Jennings/Dan (prospect pitcher)/Eric Hosmer/Camden Graves/Jimmy Grimmage, etc. Most of my positions had some subpar players, but then I trade.
Mainly I was wondering: does anyone else do these types of trades? I trade my subpar players combined with minor leaguers for better players. For instance, I traded Saltalamacchia for a prospect catcher by the name of Evan something, can't remember, but he has good power and ovrl of 80. I traded Hosmer for Edwin Encarnocion (this was near impossible), and my 73 ovr second baseman for Jason Kipnis, traded my SS for Asdrubal, and got some stellar pitching also...
Now I haven't played this game for awhile, plus I'm on Legend and I lost my first game, but I'll adjust. My team is 99 pitching, 88 batting, 96 overall.Mlb 2k12:
Nationals Fantasy Franchise: 45-15, Tom Milone 10-0, Bumgarner leading in K's, Bryce Harper on a huge hitting streak
My Player SS: RBI MLB Record, 90 overall after 2 years
My Player SP: Taken out bottom 9 2 outs with a perfect game going (my bad luck)Comment

Re: MLB 2K13: The Franchise Mode Thread
Yes, people do that. It's called cheesing. Any time you make a series of deals that starts with a poor player and works up to a solid player, that's cheesing the trade AI. You can play however it's fun for you, but I wish they'd make the trade AI so it was harder to trade your way into an all star team.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment
