    Re: Any questions?

FatPitcher, I was playing WSB 2k3 last night and remembered anoter question to ask, Does the field still have the "concrete" feel to them? Meaning when the ball comes down from say a shallow outfield hit, will it bounce very high all the time. When playing WSB2k3, I feel like I am always playing on astroturf, even on natural fields.

    Thanks,

    John

The STRIKE ZONE is that area over home plate the upper limit of which is a horizontal line at the midpoint between the top of the shoulders and the top of the uniform pants, and the lower level is a line at the hollow beneath the knee cap. The Strike Zone shall be determined from the batter's stance as the batter is prepared to swing at a pitched ball. (For diagram of STRIKE ZONE see page 23.)

They don't really approve of the strike zone correctly... they didn't necessarily say the front of the part, likewise, they also didn't say anything about the entirety of the plate.

I don't know, I'll have to ask around again, because IMO this is a pretty interesting and disputable subject, I was always told (again, even by umpires) that it is supposed to be called based on the location of the ball at the front of the plate.

Actually you are half right, it is not where the catcher cathes the ball which determines a stirke but where the ball passes over "the area of the plate". Well the "area" of any object would be the entire length and width of said object. (i.e. area = length*width). So there is really no difference in value for the front or back of the plate, or the side of the plate for that matter, it is just the plate, and if the ball crosses any portion of the plate ,at the right height of course, it is a strike.

It bounces less this year. Still a tad high in my opinion.

Can we still play shorter season lengths in GM/franchise mode this year? If so, are the options for season length the same as last year?

FP, one last (yeah, right!) question on Zone Hitting. I get the whole 360 degrees instead of 9 zones thing- there are 360 DIRECTIONS you can swing instead of 9. But is your swing also sensitive to how far in a given direction you push? If I barely push the thumbstick in a given direction on one pitch, then push as far as I can go at the exact same angle/direction on the next pitch, are these swings treated the same?

People have said this (that they ARE different) in another thread, but I wasn't sure based on what you said earlier. Sorry if this is a repeat.

                              Thanks a bunch.
