Release date ...Does Sega wanna FAIL?
A lot of people with sports games will say lets wait for reviews or rent the games first but if one game comeso ut 2 weeks earlier most people will just buy that game. How many people will wait another 2 weeks for the ESPN review? Say MVP gets a 9.0 then 2 weeks later ESPN gets a 9.6 not too many people will go buy ANOTHER baseball game. The best thing to do is release the game the same day as MVP or before it but never after it. You would think Sega would realize this after the ESPN Football thing where they released it 3 weeks later than Madden and by that time Madden sold over 2 million already. You have to think most casual gamers wont buy 2 sports games so every sale counts and they let 2 million sales go before they even released the game. When the new season is coming people get hyped and buy the sports games the first 2 weeks after that the hype goes down.Tags: None -

Re: Release date ...Does Sega wanna FAIL?
I'm sure they don't want to be the last game out. They are putting 2 network modes in for the first time, so they're probably running into some problems related to that. And because of that, they may be the only game out there who has A-Rod on the Yankees and Maddux on the Cubs. Ideally, I'd like to see it out at the same time too, but I'd rather see a more polished game. I'll wait... I don't need it on the first day, anyway.
If you just buy the first baseball game that comes out, you might not get what you really want.Comment

Re: Release date ...Does Sega wanna FAIL?
If they come out first then people won't want to get it because they are waiting for mvp. Either way they aren't going to get as many sells as mvp.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

you're talking from a FAN perspective the casual gamer picks up whats available. If ESPN came out the same day as Madden i wouldn't have Madden. Same thing for NBA LiveComment

Hate to break it to you, but if the "casual fan" sees Madden side-by-side with anything, he picks up Madden. In that sense, it doesn't make a big difference when we come out, as long as it's before the baseball season starts. Even if we did plan to come out at the same time, EA would just call up Sony and get their game out a week before.Comment
