No, I was referring to management decisions. The CPU going to second on a sacrifice is a flaw. However, this DOES happen in real baseball. It probably happens more often in MVP than in real life. Is the CPU throwing to second on a sacrifice a MAJOR AI flaw? That's subjective. Some managers don't even like to sacrifice when there's already one out in the inning. I've always thought of sacrificing as "manufacturing outs". Now, that may explain why I don't manage a baseball team, but I've always hated sacrifice bunts. Sure, they prevent double plays, get a man into scoring position and take away the force at second... but they also generate one out, and you only get three of those...

It's not a subjective flaw, the fact is that is NOT the way it's generally played in Major League Baseball and that's a fact. It's not supposed to be taken into account your particular view of how in your view that is manufacturing an out, that just isn't played correctly in this game and no amount of argument on this issue can change the fact that this game just doesn't properly play that particular circumstance.Comment

If you're 70+ games into your franchise, and you're complaing about CPU management decisions in 2 games, doesn't that qualify as the CPU making good decisions most of the time?

Uh, I don't think you read the whole post or you just didn't understand it. I have seen the CPU fail to pinch hit for its pitcher in obvious pinch hit situations in about half of my games. No, I didn't draft Grossman on my fantasy team, what do you think I am an idiot?

So then with the bases loaded and no outs, you would always throw home instead of turning the double play and giving up a run?No, I didn't draft Grossman on my fantasy team, what do you think I am an idiot?

Can we not talk about MVP in the ESPN forum......Please
To get back on topic of Hil's comments. Dont get me twisted, I'm not a nut holder of ethier game. I'm not buying ESPN because this game reminds me a heck of alot like ESPN NHL last year. A game that took 1 step foward, 2 steps back. Its been stated numerous times in reviews that this game is lacking. I was a big fan of WSB last year.....for 1 month only. Something about WSB bored me in some way that I cant put my finger on to this day. But what has Sega done to solidify its ESPN franchise? Too much of nothing. Improved on the franchise, added FPM and another useless feature? Even MLB managed to put more into they're game than that. And no, its not all about features. I for one get more excited for gameplay than eye candy...BUT, a little eye candy could'nt hurt ethier. And that, IMO, is what ESPN titles are lacking. Eye candy.
Sure, you may say that the gameplay should be the most focused on aspect. You most of been a HH fan, but as for me, I need something that'll keep me going back. Incentives if you will. Sega as well as Acclaim has'nt even come close to impressing me this year. There has'nt been any leaps and strides that you would come to expect in a game that has changed its name. Or even a game thats still fairly new. But back to Hilary, I'm definitly not taking any heed in his comments, but as a collective, all the reviews and impressions so far have driven me away from Sega this year.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

The flaw is NOT subjective. I never said that. Whether or not it's a MAJOR flaw IS subjective... And I've played about 70 games so far and I've only seen the AI not pinch hit in "obvious" pinch hit situations about 15 to 20 times. Even if it did happen half the time, whether or not this is a MAJOR AI flaw is subjective. The flaw in the AI, is not subjective. I repeat, NOT subjective.Sweet Mary Jane with eyes like the rain and alive to the sound...Comment
