I just dont see MVP's appeal. I played this year and last year and Im not impressed as many of you are. I liked HH series the best if they just fix the graphics but the engine is the best around. HH 2001 on PC rules. If ESPN fixed a few things (some bugs) and added online play I'll get it because I found WSB2k3 better than MVP.
If not I guess no baseball for me. I dont know I dont like the way sports games are going. Al these dam flaws, gameplay the important thing and they add first person, pond hockey, AAA play--they are all gimmicks. Developers need to focus on the gameplay and make it realistic as possible and still fun.
Its ok to have prospects and minor leagues with real players for trades, etc but get the dam gameplay real without all these BUGS that make the game not enjoyable.
Maybe developers are better to take a 2year cycle for a game and get things done right with just updated rosters for the off year and not do a half-assed job.

If you're 70+ games into your franchise, and you're complaing about CPU management decisions in 2 games, doesn't that qualify as the CPU making good decisions most of the time?

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but you are saying that the CPU going to 2nd on a bunt instead of taking the sure out at 1st is a common play in Major League Baseball? That doesn't sound right to me, maybe it's because I'm a Mets fan or something and the Mets just play differently than the rest of the league.

No, I was referring to management decisions. The CPU going to second on a sacrifice is a flaw. However, this DOES happen in real baseball. It probably happens more often in MVP than in real life. Is the CPU throwing to second on a sacrifice a MAJOR AI flaw? That's subjective. Some managers don't even like to sacrifice when there's already one out in the inning. I've always thought of sacrificing as "manufacturing outs". Now, that may explain why I don't manage a baseball team, but I've always hated sacrifice bunts. Sure, they prevent double plays, get a man into scoring position and take away the force at second... but they also generate one out, and you only get three of those...
