Becuase that's what I did with that option in ESPN football. It was a gimmick then, and it's a gimmick now. Don't make it out to seem like I hate the game. I'm just disappointed.

Imagine how much better the presentation and on the field play would be if they focused on THAT instead of the gimmicks.

Face it, First Person modes on the sports games aren't going to bring in the sales.

FP does bring in the sales. It's the only reason why I'm buying ESPN Baseball, just to see if they did as nice a job with it as they did with ESPN Football. That's one sale right there. I'd buy a game because it had a first person mode any day before I bought a game for owner mode. FP mode may not be perfect in year 1, but I for one can't wait to see what happens in years 2-3, etc.

Remember, just because you don't enjoy something, doesn't mean the rest of the world feels the same way.

Right. The SALES. Plurality being key to this point. How much discussion has gone on the board about people claiming it was a waste of time and development.

Of course there is going to be a very few people who buy it. But it's not going to MAKE the game. People rarely even mention ESPN NFL for it's FP mode when you look at it being discussed now.

Even passed the boards, there never just that one random person who says "I love ESPN, the FP mode is great!" They like the entire package.

They talk about the game and how it plays.

I'm sure if they were to put out statistics as to what % of people played FPM online it would be EXTREMELY low.

All that time wasted on FPM that coulda been spent on better player models and faces, and ANIMATIONS. Very poor prioritization of limited resources Sega.
