This is what bugs me b/c it is exactly what I feared. I played WSB 2k3 all last year, and really don't want to be playing it another year.

You expect change in a game, and change for the better. IMO it seems like this is the game we should have had LAST YEAR.

How do you even know they did more than that? Have you played the game??

The point is it will STILL feel like you're playing the same thing as last year from what I've been reading all over the 'net. There are plenty of WSB fans who already jumped ship b/c of it, and this review seems to be confirming it.

And PLEASE, leave the Madden comparisons at the door when ya walk in. Madden added Owner mode, ESPN added... First Person Baseball...???

WSB is not up to Madden's standards to be simply "modifying" it's game engine like that.

As good as it was last year, there's still SO MUCH to be improved.

Sega didn't do as much as they could have, if you look at the leaps and bounds a developer like 989 made.

Because Madden did make a good amount of changes. They added Owner's mode, they added playmaker control, they redid the DB AI.

I liked WSB last year (though after playing MVP this year I don't know if I could go back). I don't need a lot of changes in it, but I need some of the smaller changes to fix the things I didn't like. So far I don't know if they did that.

I haven't seen a review address the stealing issue. The batting animations seem even worse than last year. The sound/atmosphere seems as bad as last year. I wanted zone hitting, and got their new system. I have to play it to see how it turns out. They've had a good franchise mode the last couple years, but after revamping it 2 years ago, there haven't been to many changes.

The big addiditions, the Duel, which I have no interest in, and First Person Mode, which I would have interest in if done well, seem to have failed.

I don't need an overhaul every year, but I need more than a couple meters thrown into the game, and it's finished. Right now it doesn't look like most of my problems with the game were fixed.

I think he meant that ESPN NFL added more than Madden, so why did everyone who's picked MVP over ESPN MLB because it improved more not pick ESPN NFL over Madden for the same reason?

Madden's game engine is great. High scoring games, receivers not looking back to see if the ball is coming. Plus you get at least 4 plays a game that are 80 yards or more. All of these problems existed since PS2 has come out. Great engine though.
