    Re: Official Wishlist Thread

Play by Play and game analysis from Jon Miller, Joe Morgan for ESPN
Espn 2 telecast from Ted Robinson, Rex Hudler (rehash WSB 2k3, and update the names)
ESPN Classic mode as opposed to scenario mode, relieve all the greatest moment in baseball including last
Year Red Sox Yankee battle, 86 Mets, Redsox and Florida, Cubs battle similar to TWIB mode in ASB 2005.
ESPN club house, similar to crib mode with an enhanced trophy room and team collectibles and memorabilia.
Cutscenes showing players chewing gum and talking to their teammates, base coaches and opponents ala MLB 2005
HR celebrations with players being greeted at home plate ala MLB 2005
    More and more animations,
The stadiums are magnificently rendered and look exactly like their real world counterparts but are missing
correct ad placements and fonts, similar to ASB 2005, plus more legendary stadiums, and Spring Training stadiums.
New player scaling with amazing 3D Player Models: Set accurately to each player’s height, weight, body size. Revamp last year’s model.
Please recreate accurately detailed player faces and expressions for all 750 MLBPA. Use whatever face scan technology available, I suggest you began with Sammy Sosa.
2d photorealistic animated stadium crowd who react to the action on the pitch in real-time! Please use as many different models as possible, maybe the whole VC and Blueshift crew as members of the crowd. Take a group picture.
More unique player batting stances and pitching deliveries, MLB 2005 from 989 sports has a ton more than ESPN Baseball. Ie (Nomar his whole routine)
Panoramic Stadium Tour where ESPN personalities highlights all the interesting facts and features of each stadium.
mound-visiting managers not catchers (keep catcher and pitcher conference as well)
animated base coaches that interact with runners on base giving them signs
interactive crowd that will cheer, boo or even leave the ballpark if the game's a blowout)
    one touch intentional walk
an option to charge the mound after being on the receiving end of a bean ball,
animated umpires, with ball, strikes, fouls, outs and homerun call
    Picture in Picture baserunning
Bring back the big league challenge or the homerun derby
    Player scaled strike zone
We should be able to see relievers warming up in the bullpen at the stadium ala ASB 2005
    Catcher back picks
Realistic baserunning angles, runners rounding bases
    Play of the game
Outside shot of stadiums, and fans coming in
Real time scoreboard, with out of town scores like ASB 2005
Motion blending so fielding is smooth
Authentic uniforms with the Russell and Majestic logo on the respective teams sort of what ASB 2005 has done with their uniforms.
Olerud on base with his helmet on (MLB 2005)
fluctuating game times (day games, night games, and even dusk games)
    National anthems, fireworks after homeruns,
    Rain delays
Bring back pitchers shakes their heads from a pitching call, animation, and the old way of choosing our pitches WSB 2k3 style
    Actual Major League mascots
More player accessories like elbow protectors, pads, sunglasses, eye black, all the accessories that Major league players wear.

Stadium, Game Time (day, night, twilight), Weather (no precipitation, rain, snow), Sky (clear, fair, overcast, stormy),

      passed balls,

Wrigley faithful throwing back a visitor's home run ball,

Batting Practice - Get your groove on in the batting cage.

pitchers wiping their brow from time to time.

K's being placed on the stadium wall by the fans as the home pitcher strikes out more and more batters

collision detection in the outfield, and along the base paths, I was playing as the Redsox and Johnny Damon and Gabe Kapler morphed into each other’s body.

Multimedia section providing player, interviews, highlights, “I live for this” baseball motto

A full Spring Training Schedule where you earn points to improve your squad by completing a series of objectives

Get rid of the robotic way in which players walk and move

Crowd specific wardrobe, specifically team specific t-shirts, jackets and hats

player recognition for created characters and audio match for similar names.

animations like your batter loosing his grip on the bat and the bat flying down the third base line.

pitchers who put on jackets when they're on the base path.

allows the use of a four-man pitching rotation, which is not possible in any of the other games (especially for playoffs)

called third strikes, catchers can actually drop a third strike allowing the hitter the chance to run to first.

sound effect for balls hitting the glove when fielding, plus realistic cracks of the bat when the ball is hit.

High heat 2004 has 27 different types of throws including the fosh and slurve

MLB 2005 franchise mode, nuff said.

      MLB 2005 career mode

More ballpark-specific homerun celebrations including at the plate greetings like high fives, pointing to the sky ect…

momentum meter making certain games, games against rivals, home games, and games late in the season, worth more in terms of gaining momentum for your next series of games.

the audio should captures every drop of stadium atmosphere with crowds chanting, clapping, and stomping for their hometown team, horns blaring in the background. Specific team and player chants in addition to all the hecklers.
Watch a Boston Redsox and NY Yankee game at Fenway, and hear how a crowd is to react at a ball game.

AAA and AA teams for every Major League club

in-game menu that lets you do all of your roster moves without going to a pause menu. Sub pitchers, change your defensive alignment, or check out the opponent's dugout

            licensed real life managers

Custom soundtracks so you can have various songs from your own ripped music play in menus and when players step to the plate assigning a specific song to a player.

Create a player should be as comprehensive as the one found in Tiger Woods 2004 with the ability to tweak just about everything

franchise mode should include the amateur draft that occurs every year in June, as well as the winter meetings and arbitration moves that occur during the off-season.

            appeals to the baseline umpires.

More stadium announcements by the PA announcer, MLB 2005 does a great job of this.

A hard slide should knock the ball out of a baseman's hands

Throughout the game, the players' uniforms should accumulate dirt and grass stains based upon the plays they make in the field.

In, MLB 2005 statistics are tracked in over 107 different categories, for example night versus day or domed versus outdoor comparisons are kept as well. EPSN should copy their stats tracking system.

I like the fact that Blue Shift worked on gameplay this off-season. However, with any game, areas exist that can be improved. Here are the things I would like to see for next year's game:

                        1. Add a slider to control CPU errors.

                        2. Add snap pickoff throws from catchers.

                        3. CPU bunting ability on sacrafice hits needs to be improved.

                        4. Add weather and possible rain delays or rainouts. You could show the grounds crew at work. A delay of 1 minute could = 1 hour of video game delay.

                        5. Add retractable roofs that open and close. Also, vary whether the roof is opened or closed at the beginning of games (depending on weather).

                        6. Add more animations. Fix the swing animation.

                        7. Have games begin at dusk and progress into darkness. Have games that begin during the day change sun positioning and therefore different shadows appear on the field.

                        8. Have different skies for the game (sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy etc....)

                        9. Vary attendance at games.

                        10. The crowd should get involved more and be much louder. Have them cheer or boo, depending on the situation.

                        11. Either fix or get rid of the first person mode to create room.

                        12. Have an option to play with a pitching meter like MVP.

                        Thanks....

                            10. The crowd should get involved more and be much louder. Have them cheer or boo, depending on the situation.

                            11. Either fix or get rid of the first person mode to create room.

                            12. Have an option to play with a pitching meter like MVP.

                            Thanks....

Signature warm up swing routines & swing follow through for star players

Realistic bats, those bats in the game are way too skinny

Majestic, Russell, New Era, Wilson, Louisville Slugger, you guys have these companies plastered all over the game, why not use them as apparel and accessories. (example authentic Russell and Majestic uniforms).

Catchers should throw the ball back to the pitcher after each pitch

Professional motion captured athletes, MLB 2005 has 24 professional athletes in their games and it shows based on the gameplay, ESPN needs at least that many for next year.

Base coaches should have numbers on the back of their jersey and they should differ for each team
Get rid of the deliberate walk to the dugout cutscene that just seems to take forever.

The ability to create new players by copying other players. What this essentially does is allow you to base a new player off an already established player for example players that do not belong in the MLBPA like Bonds can be replicated without starting from scratch.

Catchers taking off their mask when chasing foul balls. Speaking of catchers, ASB 2005 has some excellent animations for catchers. ESPN baseball should capture those nuances in their game.

Come July, getting the opportunity to play the Home Run Derby, the All-Star Game itself, and even the Future Stars Game that follows the next day.
