PLEASE get rid of the infielder's OVER THE SHOULDER catch in short outfield!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I rarely ever see this type of catch made in real life as I do in this game.

    Please get rid of it!

I think it would be neat for ALL homerun balls to actualy land somewhere. You know, like see it bounce around the crowd, or land in the bull pen and bounce around, or hit a scoreboard and fall back into the crowd, or hit something and bounce back on the field. Balls just seem to fade away after they clear the wall. Just a silly thought, but it would make hitting HRs more exciting.

--My #1 request is better crowd noise. It really does take away from the atmosphere.

            --Fix the infield error issues

--Fix the sac bunt ineptitude by the CPU pitchers.

--More aggressiveness from the CPU on the basepaths. Even with that slider turned up, they don't really challenge guys.

--More variety in errant throws. You never see anyone completely throw the ball away, it always hits the glove and bounces away.

            --More stats, esp. lefty/righty stats.

--Ability to see opposing stats/ratings without having to change sides.

--All-Star recognition based on games played at a position, not that player's designated position (for utility guys).

--More manager stategy, such as better lefty/righty subs.

--More day-to-day injuries, and more injuries to pitchers, which are rare.

--A "fan favorite" rating (could be hidden) that makes it harder to trade certain stars without facing financial repurcussions. Too many big name players get shopped in franchise mode.

--Ratings variation during the season as players get hot/slump.

                  Re: Official Wishlist Thread

For the last few years, I have alternated buying WSB and ASB. WSB has great gameplay, but the atmosphere is lacking. And while ASB has its share of gameplay issues, the atmosphere is fantastic. It is the little things that add up to really give a baseball feel:
                  1. Working scoreboards. Nothing brings a stadium to life like working scoreboards. On the contrary, hitting a ball off the Green Monster with a static scoreboard reminds you that it is just wall paper in a video game.
                  2. Imitaton Advertisements. You can't use real company names, but ASB does a good job of faking them. Some ads are virtually landmarks. Fenway just isn't Fenway without the Citgo sign in the distance.
                  3. Better music. That carnaval organ music has got to go....or at least be limited.
                  4. Better crowds.
                  5. My last WSB was 2k3, so perhaps the announcing was better last year. But ASB sets a high bar. Good announcing, and the realisticlly go off on tagaents with long winded baseball stories.

I think WSB could really improve if they borrowed some ideas from ASB. One other thing would be generated pitch counts. This is a great feature that enables you to speed up gameplay. You have a better chance to make it through 162 games, but still can employ all the strategy of baseball.

I'd really love to see the edition of a few more old stadiums like ASB has. I love playing in old Yankee Stadium and old Fenway Park.

                          Re: Official Wishlist Thread

after reading this entire thread i notice that most of the wishes (probably 90%) are graphical or presentation. that speaks well of the gameplay. i do agree with most everything.

on a gameplay side, i want the fielders to have momentum. i dont like the fact my SS can grab the ball, swivle around to face first base and then make the throw. the should have to set the feet or jump and spin and make a bullet throw to get the runner.

i also agree with a poster who wants the over the shoulder infield catch removed or toned down. i want less little floating pop ups to the pitcher and infielders and more line drive outs and sharp ground balls.

                          lastly, i want:
                          1) the cpu to rest its starters more,
                          2) to be penalized for sending guys up and down to the minors,
                          3) more foul ball from the cpu,
                          4) barry bonds in the game. buy his rights espn. yes, they are for sale.

this game and mlb 2005 are not far away from perfect games. if mlb had walks, steals and off line throws i may not have even bought this game.

next year will rock for baseball gamers.
