Personally, I've noticed over the years (dating back to WSB on Dreamcast) that this game gives up the most homers to slider pitches. I very, very rarely throw them unless they're way outside...if it's a tight game try not throwing a slider...stick to fastballs up and in or low and away....depending on the players hot spots.

I think you're right about this. Sliders that don't slide seem more common in this game than other breaking pitches not going where you want them - and I remember it from WSB, too. A slider is more uncommon and harder (for most) to throw than a curveball, so it makes some sense.

You guys nailed it. As much as I hate Rex Hudler's announcing abilities in this game, he's right when he states "A low and outside slider is the hardest pitch to hit in baseball". So if you throw a slider, you better get it low and away.

The only other time I throw it is if I want to back door a guy - low and inside. I usually throw some hard stuff outside (FB, sinker, splitter, cutter) and then throw a slow slider on the lower inside part of the plate.

Ya know I cringe everytime I throw a low and away slider cause I know I am going to hear "A low and outside slider is the hardest pitch to hit in baseball

There is definitely catch up logic in this baseball game! The EA screw is alive and well in this game, but this is a SEGA baseball game. I had a three run lead in the bottom of the nineth inning and two outs with two base runners. The CPU batter hits a three run home run to tie the game! They win the game with a home run in 10th inning. This sucks! I have yet to play one game where I do not give up a home run!

LOL that's not a catch up logic. You had 2 guys on base, and probably threw a bad pitch, and then he busted it right open. sounds like a user error.

You need to test this more than one game. Try to get a bigger lead and see what happens

A legitimate claim of "Catch Up Logic" not only requires multiple occurances, but the user needs to be the beneficiary on a few occaisions. Would you have had the same objection if it were you who hit the 3 run dinger in the 9th to tie the game?

A good test is to give the team a 15 run lead, and then see if the CPU allows you to score more than you usually do.
