Re: Getting a bit angry at Take Two

Just the little things. I was already mad with their stupid agreement. The game looks great, then they add in turbo when the game is probably great without it anyways. Then they raise the price, then they put Jeter on the cover...

It isn't a big concern at all, but what is with this. First Giambi, than Jeter, everybody but Yankee fans hate them. I just wonder what they are thinking.

Those swinging animations are bugging me too, every swing looks like the batter is trying to pull a ball down at his knees. The opposite field hits couldn't look more awkward, it makes me cringe.

Even the stuff that doesn't effect gameplay is making a big difference and what I am going to buy.

MVP is definetly on the top of my list and I am now deciding between ESPN and MLB 2006... Still haven't made up my mind, will probably buy them all 3 eventually...

The more I hear about this deal the more I am convinced that the console makers and T2 have sort of banded together to send a message that exclusivity is not a good thing. Sure it would hurt T2 to do what EA did. But it would have hurt the console makers too. What EA did shocked the entire industry. The deal T2 got done seems to bring SOME degree of reasoning back in regards to competition.

As for Jeter.... a hell of a ballplayer on a hated team. Now THAT'S advertising! I have never had a "cover athelete" disuade me from buying a game.

frst, they didn't RAISE the price to 50. They simply didn't discount the price as they did last year. Very big big difference. I still can't believe how many people here seem to feel it's the normal price at 20 dollars. Name another console game that's sold regularly at 20 dollars new anyway?????????? (and don't even think about bringing up some odd game like a board game for your console).
Second, having Giambi as a cover athlete in the past is not even remotely comparable to having Jeter as a future cover boy. Jeter is one of the most logical poster boys for a game. He's very well respected, a model citizen, and articulates himself very well. Forget what team he plays for because he represents MLB in a video game, not the Yankees solely. It's not like the next installments of take 2's games are going to be called "Yankee baseball 2006" or anything, so forget what team he plays for. Heck, Vlad is a good person too, but maybe they wanted someone a little more approachable to the public (Vlad doesn't speak english, so at times it's hard to have him as a spokesperson). Either way, it's the cover of the game, not something to reflect how the game itself plays in the long run. It's not as if the future installments will have Jeter hitting 70 home runs or any nonsense like that.

Again this years title will be $20.00. The price hike will go into affect for all 2006 titles. Specifically for the Next Gen systems. Last years title was not $20.00 It was $39.99 when it came out.

I'm a huge Laker fan, but wouldn't be the last to tell you that was a bad idea, too many ppl hate him.

I'm cooling off a bit, I guess I'll still get this game pending good reviews from OS and Gamespot/1up, but I have just been displeased to say the least of the goings on over at TT.

It was the extra little step they went to say, "No more MVP Baseball for 7 years nomatter what!"

I'm sure Kush is still working their tales off to make a great game, and if it is good, I suppose I'll buy it.

It does seem a bit silly to boycot a game.

Maybe EA can do a backyard baseball game... Even if only for the gameplay...
How are they raising the price? The price was never set at 20 dollars for this game and it's still 10 dollars less than all the other games out.
