2) The fact they are in the main gameplay at all.

To compare EXTRA game modes to something that can affect on the field results is... well, as you'd love to say, "apples and oranges."

But again, if they both can be turned off, it's not a big deal. Still would cause me to be more hesitant with this game than any other.

Anyway, to address your comments, almost any gripe you have about MVP can be solved with the PC version, although many are not founded with the console versions anyway. And pitching and mini games? What does that have to do with 9 on 9 on the field gameplay? The points you're defending are both on the field... but as long as they can be turned off, who cares? In a similar fashion, you don't have to play the mini games. My comments might not be the same as your opinions if you're limited to solely an Xbox or PS2.

Saying that people should buy the PC version should not excuse the MVP series from not having quality console versions. $149 for an Xbox or PS2 is much cheaper than a quality PC. Most sales for EA's sports lineup comes from consoles right? If EA is saying if you want to play an excellent version of MVP you need to buy the PC version, do you think that should excuse them for the imperfections on other platforms?

It is obvious that the PC and Xbox has the advantage of patches and a dedicated gaming community that's always a plus. The same debate arose with the fact of ESPN games having the ability to be patched on the Xbox while PS2 owners were S.O.L. While the best version of each series may certainly be on Xbox due to this advantage, how much better would the series be without the ability to patch(MVP or 2k)? If you were stuck with no T.O.'s on Xbox or few lfty HR's, steals, walks, etc. on the PC?

We all want these games to work to the best of their ability out of the box and that is great that the PC or Xbox version can cure those ills if that's not the case. It would be best that those ills for these games didn't exist resulting in particular platforms having an advantage because they have access to fixes that others don't. I can understand buying a game for a particular platform for graphics because certain systems have limitations in that regard. When it comes to gameplay enhancements, that shouldn't really be the case.

Completely agree. But the point about MVP is that the console versions should be this year what they were expected to be last year. Even with it's problems, if you read the MVP forum, you'll see a lot of people enjoyed the game anyway.

The excitement this year is b/c those problems appear to be rectified, while many, including myself, see this year's 2k5 with the same hesitation as should have been held with MVP last year....

The graphics are much improved but the gameplay is important and if the realism of gameplay is ruined by the unrealism of bunk @$$ trading then the game is ruined for me. I want a sim experience but trades are part of that. Turning trades off is stupid and isnt an excuse. By controlling all of the teams can you override trades that are stupid?

Lets also not forget the bugs. As great as college hoops is I cant even get a new schedule and players leaving early unless I play the final game of the year, all of the conference tourney games, and the NCAA tourney games all in one sitting without turning off my X Box and saving. That is a joke. I am excited but also hesitant because of their past.
