Re: There's no excuse for freezing by now Kush

I do not have a problem with freezing but there are certainly enough other glaring glitches with the 2k games to come to a conclusion that the reason they were able to put these out for 19.99 is because they cut the bug testing portion of development. I certainly prefer the 2k sports titles and purchased all except for MLB, purchased MVP instead but I certainly noticed quite a few bugs in NFL2k5.

I have yet to experience any freezing problems and I have a Samsung drive. But I will tell you that College Hoops and NHL both froze on me a lot. I really like MLB this year (and didn't plan on getting another game), but I am scared to invest multiple seasons in franchise/GM mode because of the freezing.n I have lttle faith in Kush because of their miserable track record with bugs and freezing. MVP is looking more enticing and I am trying to resist the temptation to buy it (I only have time for one game), but the fact that I won't have to worry about rediculous freezing will lead me to MVP. I am keeping my fingers crossed, but if it freezes once, I am off to buy MVP.

I have two XBoxes and had the freezing problem with CH2K5 on both, and ended up with the freezing problem on MLB2K5 as well, on both. They are the only games that freeze on my systems, and they are also the only ESPN games that I have...

With MLB2K5 it was freezing almost every hour for the first two days. Then I turned off menu music/sfx and it hasnt frozen for the last three days, so maybe that helped, at least on my systems.
I creating Ryan Langarhans and put him in the braves roster, but not only my entire braves roster changed but other teams roster changed too. Why is that. Now if the braves or other teams trade or sign players, there will be no point for chsnging it. If u don't have online like me, u be sad too.

The EA/Sega competition to get product out first is hurting the products from a debugging standpoint. With the licensing, they shouldn't have that excuse next year for Madden or for MLB2k6.

The problem is not with the 2K games, it is with the DVD drive. So if we want to "blame" someone, blame Microsoft! What you are seeing when the game freezes is the dreaded "Dirty Disc Error" (DDE). Next time MLB2K5 freezes, just let it sit there for awhile. Eventually the DDE will appear telling you that you may have a dirty disc.. blah... blah... blah. I had a problem with ALL EASPORTS games, a few racing games, and some Sega games freezing. Like most people, I blamed the game. I did a LOT of research online, and came to the conclusion that I needed a new DVD unit. I got a new DVD drive (Philips) online and the freezing/DDE in EVERY game I had a problem with have vanished! That proved to me that it is certainly a hardware issue. This is all related to MS. My advice? Buy a new DVD drive and save your receipts. There is a class action lawsuit in the works against MS. There could be restitution some time down the line.

Just because a new DVD drive helped your "across the board" problem doesnt mean that it has anything to do with the rest of our problems solely with the 2k series - you seem to have had a problem that was unrelated to the rest of ours and the problem with 2k freezing in and of itself just compounded the issue.

Glad you could get your problem fixed though

Umm I bought a new xbox when NFL 2k5 came out because my old one was locking up and freezing. Now I am getting the same problems with MLB 2k5
