Are you guys still enjoying this game even with its warts?

I keep coming back to this game hoping that I won't run into the dreaded stats bugs (where Derek Jeter has 3 saves and Sheffield has 2) and the record bug (where it gives me a loss without even playing the game or says I have played a game when in fact I haven't), but it never fails. I really want to play out at least a full season because I really am having fun palying it, but the bugs are killing me (haven't had any freezes yet knock on wood). I know Jim, Guga, and some others are still enjoying it, but how are you guys dealing with the bugs? Ignoring them? Have you found any fixes for the two bugs I am talking about above?

i am presently starting the game. i want to try it for a few weeks and then try out mlb 2006.

i find the game to be a tease. there are some really cool things and some stupid things.

i am frustrated that i have to change my roster every time i start a game. i am playing with seattle and after sexson went down the cpu moved ichiro to 5th. he is batting poorly due to the fact i sucked at the begining but he should still bat first.

but i really enjoy the P/B battles and the cat and mouse trying to steal a base. i like the speed of the pitches also. i am getting used to it, but it feels like it should.

i have yet to check into the major warts, but i am trying to wait on a ps2 roster because it seems the xbox roster fixed the problem with subbing.

i am still on the fence. the game has promise and next year they need only to fix the bugs, upgrade the franchise while tweaking, not overhauling, the graphics and game AI.

innovation has its costs. it means there are more things to wow us but at the same time more things that can go wrong. but it is what we ask for each year, so its a catch-22.

Not sure if you guys know, but if you want your stats and awards to work, make sure you select "Sim Without News" when you advance the schedule in your franchise. It takes a week or so to catch up, but it fixes most stat problems. As for the roster problem where Ichiro is stuck at 5th. Thats odd, my friend is playing as the Tigers, and he cant put Guillen in the second spot, its the weirdest thing. He tries to, but it never lets him.

I'm liking it just fine. The only thing that's holding me back from playing it more often is unable to be playing on weekdays.

I'm enjoying the game immensely. I came into it knowing that it will have it's problems but I think the series will become much better before you know it.

The game definitely has so much promise and does a lot of things well (presentation, pitcher/batter, baserunning), but I even tried the "sim without news" and I still get some stat bugs. Radja, are you saying that the XBOX live download from Take Two solved the roster problems? If so, did someone upload it to teh rosters thread? Right now, I have John Flarhety palying shorstop after Jeter got hurt (I of course changed it, but this is what the computer did while I simmed after Jeter's injury).

Me too. I am doing some home improvements and I have had little time to get a game in the past few weeks (weekends are a different story because I just wait for the wifey to fall asleep and play until I hear birds chirping ).
