In a word: NOT AT ALL.

The series has promise, but that's for the future and ANOTHER major revamp of the series. Right now, it seems like a niche title for those who can overlook the bugs b/c of it's incredible presentation.

Less fluff and more "stuff."

I see your point Pared, but maybe I am becomming a graphics whore in my older age.

The presentation just sucks me in and I think the gameplay, although not at the level of MVP, is adequate for me.

Out of the box, MLB2K5 can be frustrating. It becomes a much better experience if you're willing to tweak the sliders, adjust the ratings, use the workarounds, etc. Not everyone wants to do that. I can't blame them for looking at the alternatives (MVP05 and MLB2006, if you have PS2).

I like every aspect of the game but there is no true cursor hitting, its been in the series over a decade why take it out now. I hate hitting any other way. I don't think I could buy another 2k baseball game if this is what they do with the cursor. Its horrible just horrible!

Yeah, I agree that this game is practically unplayable out of the box. i rented it on a gamepass and took it back after two days.

About a week later, after surfing these boards and seeing how hard people were working to get the game on track, I picked it up for 15 bucks on xbox...what the heck.

A week later, I am shocked over hwo much fun I am having with a sloppy title. Yes, this title is darn sloppy out the box, but sliders, fixes and findings have made it playable. And to top it off, the graphics and presentation make a playable game enjoyable. Now that doesn't happen ev'day.

But I'm a control freak, and w/ limited options on the box, this is the only game that allows me to control all 30 teams so that I can watch key matchups during my season and stuff.

So even with it's warts, somehow, someway, I am still enjoying the game.

And I am not ashamed.

I'm enjoying it very much. I have MVP and enjoy it very much as well. I've read bad and good things about the 989 game but I don't have a PS2. I am getting a PSP and thinking about getting the 989 game for it.

Even with some of the flaws, I find Kush's bball game a lot of fun. I think I wore myself out on MVP because that's all I played last year. Now, it just seems too familiar and kind of stale. I'm looking forward to trying out 989's game.

Just picked it up, have done no adjustments yet but pretty impressed overall looks like it should be a good game after I tweak things to get rid of some of the bugs. Anybody suggest what sliders I should use?
