Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**

hey guys, havent really posted for a while as I have been really happy with the way my season is going with my current slider set and have cruised into July with my Cardinals (49-46, 2.5 games back of the Cubs).

My current slider set is more or less the last one I posted, with a few tweaks to make pitching a tad tougher since I am still not willing to switch from Payoff to the Zone (don't think its a realistic representation of pitching). I guess I can post this most recent set on here when I get a chance, but it's a relatively tough slider set and I would actually recommend the one on the first page for most people. But HH you can use the most recent set I posted or I will post my current one that has some small tweaks in CPU power and the CPU pitching sliders when I get a chance.

I will get some season stats on here too, but I tend to get pretty lazy with posting lines of season stats. Maybe I'll get the team ERA and batting Pujols' stats since he's a good MVP candidate.

hey nnng had another great game with your sliders on the first page amazing. i started a chise with the cubs and i was playing the reds. i won 5-4 with 12 hits they got 7. zambrano pitched 7 with 4 k's 4 walks and 5 hits 2 er. harang went 4 2/3 with 1 walk and 3 k's allowing 8 hits and 3 runs. i stuck out 7 times while they struck out 5 times. zambranop pitched 110 pitches just like he would in real life and harang pitched 55 pitches. soriano d lee and zambrano yes zambrano had dingers which is cool cause hes one of the best pitcher hitters in the game, and hatteberg got a grand salamie to tie it up 4-4 that was off weurtz. c zam started the 8th with two walks so i took him out. i walked 4 times they walked 6 or so. dunn struck out 3 times lol. anyways excellent game again. nnng you are a slider god you saved this game from a dusty shelf. thanks again off too play the reds for g number two and i hope lilly does as well as he did yesterday. thanks again dude. you rock.

Hey, are you guys using payoff/classic or swing stick/zone interface? I know nnng is using payoff for pitching, but just want to know for sure. Also nnng, can you give me some scores from your season?

Hey nnng07, I was wondering if you were playing with injuries on and with trades on. Is it as bad as people are writing? I would love to have both these on, but don't like what I'm reading.

HH, really quickly since I am lazy:

-through 96 games: record is 50-46
-have 893.1 IP, 419 ER against, 482 total Runs against me (I feel like I should post this since runs that score via walk don't count as ER in the game)
-scored 467 runs with a team line of .277, .341, .436 (I walk a good ammount which helps since no one other than Pujols can hit the ball for power)
                  -Pujols' season line: 88 games, 124 hits - 378 AB's, 24 HR w/66 RBI, .328/.396/.638 line with him
-pitching staff includes Carpenter: 11-6 w/3.86 ERA, Wainright 8-6 w/4.12 ERA, and Reyes 10-4 w/4.56 ERA (Mulder sucked so I cut him -- I think he was 1-6 or 1-7 at the time)

I have trades off as they are just crazy in this game. Injuries I cannot live without since that would kinda kill the distribution of playing time in baseball. Maybe I'm just lucky or haven't really been paying attention, but I've never really seen problems with the injury system in the game.

Yeah your numbers look nice but how many games have you played (not counting simmed games) because that will help your numbers look good.

I don't sim. That would make a slider set pointless. I play every game, the way it should be.

These are truly great so far...

Quick question tho. Pitcher stamina, a bit too easy to drain guys? I had Sabathia out in the 5th after 78 pitches he was down to like 6 pct.

You get the occasional 8 inning performance? Just wondering what experience folks have had in that area...

whips, do you think maybe that has to do with how you're pitching?
For example, how often are you throwing with maximum efficiency? I'd try to mix in full-effort pitches with weaker ones when facing pitchers and catchers if you're not already.

roonoc, Hot-Cold teams & Dynamic difficulty HAVE to be off or they mess with the sliders. If they're on, using a slider set becomes rather pointless. As for Inside Edge, I never use it against hitters since I don't really think it helps my pitching approach and since I don't have that much $, but I do get it once in a while on the opposing SP just so I can know his repetoire and pitch tendencies.

Highheat, I remember nnng saying that his slider set was for the swing stick, but that was a while back and it might have changed. I am using his sliders with Heelfan's batter contact, batter power and step influence as his sliders were made for classic interface.
