Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**

    Great work on these nnng07!
I have played about 10 games in my franchise with the updated sliders you posted and I am loving them.
I have gone 6-4 with the Reds, I am batting .306 as a team and I am scoring 5.1 runs per game.
My team ERA is 4.56 and I average 8 K's per game.
The only change I have made is I have cpu power at 55 instead of 65. At 65 the cpu hits way too many HRS off me. I played 3 exhibition games with the cpu power at 65 against the Cubs and they hit 15 hrs off of me including 7 in one game.
Anyway great work on these you have made this game even better.

By the way do you use the batters eye circle when batting?
It seems like when ever I use it and guess right before the pitch if I make contact with the pitch I crush the ball everytime.

yea nnng i love your sliders and get about the same numbers as the previous poster through 10 with the tribe using the sliders on the 1st page. only difference is that i am 4-6 not 6-4 thanks in large part to my shi**y bullpen lol.

I am using the updated sliders from page 34 of this thread, the only change I made is I have cpu power at 55 instead of 65. The cpu just crushes the ball with the power at 65, I allowed 7, 5, and 6 hrs in the 3 games I tried cpu power at 65.
And yes I use swing stick batting and payoff pitching.

DISCLAIMER - These Sliders Are Meant for Maximum Difficulty
[You will get discouraged/destroyed if you are only a begginer player and try to take on good teams with this set]

Alright guys.. Im now over 130 games into my season, and I've been gradually tweaking the sliders.. For about the last 20-25 games, I have played with the same set, one that has a few changes over the most recent one I posted. The CPU power is at 60 now, with CPU Throw @ Corner down to 10. I have found this VERY realistic as they don't try to paint the black on every pitch, but do nonetheless try to pitch on the borders of the zone rather than down the middle. Pitch Speed has gone down to 60, and I REALLY recommend everyone tries this. Check swings become possible. The difference between pitch speed seems more realistc. I strongly suggest it. Anyway, I figured you guys would want me to post this 'tweaked' set, which might very possibly be my last set, as I think I have "perfected" the sliders as much as I can. Enjoy!!

even for mediocre players, his current set is MONEY. My little brother is enjoying the **** out of this game and he's not even extremely good at it.

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**

Does anyone know if NNNG is using the batters eye with his sliders?
I find that when I use the batters eye circle and I guess the pitch location right I crush the ball if I make contact.
I just didnt know if we are suppose to be using it with this slider set.

By the way I am really interested to try the new update that NNNG posted last night.
I think he has address some of the things I was worried about with these sliders.
For one he lowered the human batting sliders, I am 7-4 in my franchise and I am batting .328 as a team. He also changed some of the CPU hitting sliders I was using 55 for cpu power he has changed that to 60. I am giving up too few runs, I have a team ERA of 3.79.

Have we come to any type of conclusion on how these translate to classic swing/zone pitching?

i am 7-7 with clev using the sliders on the first page and my avg is 302 with a 3.77 era as a team. but i like the fact he posted these sliders because i will use them if it ever gets to easy and im sure they're great but i am still having fun with his first page sliders.

jake, I do use batters eye with one exception. Never swing at the 3-0 meatballs down the middle, both to try to accumulate realistc walk totals and because they are rather easy to crush. Also, since I've turned the AI Corner down to 10, the CPU doesn't always throw one down the chute on 3-0 every time.

Psycho, in terms of which sliders to use, I would recommend the first-page ones for the easier difficulty, but I think I should polish those too. There are some changes on the max-difficulty sliders which I think should apply to all sets, and would change in the first post if it was still edit-able. I'd say start with the set I posted last night, and adjust CPU SKILL, the 2 PITCHER DIFFICULTY sliders, and the human CONTACT/POWER sliders as you see fit.

So I tried these last night and the first game I played, first pitch, Julio Lugo hit one out to center field in Fenway. I quit 3 innings in with Boston leading the Yankees 7-0 and they had hit 4 home runs.

I do like the sliders though as I've been able to use them as a foundation and tweak them to my style.

                              Great work NNNG.

I did forget to disclaimer it. This set is really not intended for anyone who has played under 100 games (or doesn't consider themselves "advanced" at the game). I suggest you go for the first-page sliders, or make the adjustments I suggested to Psycho two posts above this one. Hope that helps!
