DanSF49's UPDATED Sim Sliders for Classic Swing (360)

Had to make a new thread since I could no longer edit my other one. I have updated my Classic Swing sliders, I flirted with the Swing Stick but after a few days realized that it was more annoying then enjoyable or realistic. I also use Zone 1 Pitching. So here they are, I have made some significant changes that I would like you guys to try out and let me know what you think of them. Once again for hitting I DO NOT TOUCH the left stick I don’t influence balls nor do I swing for power, if you swing for power by pushing up on the left stick then you will have a HR derby. As for the AI Take sliders and the Throw Strike sliders all being even, just trust me on this one you will see some great at bats and you will enjoy not knowing if they are going to swing or take. I have seen quiet a few called strike 3’s with the sliders like this, which is nice. So again give them a try and let me know what you guys think.

anyone have any stats on these yet? It is impossible to get the computer to score a lot.

look pretty close to what I have. I have AI throwing strikes at around 45-50, do you feel there are too many hits with that?

Ronny, AI Throw Strikes at anything higher then 40 I see to many hits, either leave them at 35 or up them to 40 if you would like. Also I dont use the Catcher Suggestions anymore I pick and throw my own pitches and I'm seeing more offense from the CPU. If you still dont see offense with these you can start bumping up the CPU contact/power by 5 each till you get the results you are looking for. Or you can try changing to Zone Pitching. Let me know how it goes.

Looks good, will give them a shot with my house rules applied, it's the only way I can play anymore. It almost feels real, lol!!!

Chicago White Sox (cpu) at Baltimore (me)

Contreras -vs- Bedard *****ZONE 1 PITCHING******

          Clear
          Calm wind
          7pm start time
          66 degrees

          1st inning:

Podsednik: flies out to left (2-2 count)
Iguchi: lined out to short (0-1 count)
Thome: grounded out to 3rd (1-2 count)

Roberts: flied out to center (1-1 count)
Mora: flied out to center (0-1 count)
Markakis: struck out swinging (1-2 count)

          2nd inning:

Konerko: singles to center (1-0 count)
Dye: doubles to right center (1-1 count, Konerko to 3rd)
Crede: popped out to 2nd (0-0 count)
Pierzynski: flied out to short right (2-0 count)
Uribe: singles to right (0-0 count, Konerko scores 1-0 White Sox)
Uribe steals second, my throw gets by Tejada, Dye scores and Uribe goes to 3rd, 2-0 White Sox
Anderson: strikes out swinging (1-2 count)

Tejada: grounds out to 2nd (3-1 count)
Huff: grounds out to short (0-2 count)
Hernandez: flies out to center (0-1 count)

          3rd inning:

Podsednik: singles to right (1-2 count, fouled off a really good 1-2 pitch, nice)
Iguchi: popped out to second (2-2 count)
          Podsednik steals second
Thome: strikes out swinging (1-2 count)
Konerko: singles to right (2-2 count)
Dye: Doubles to center (1-1 count), Podsednik scores, Konerko to 3rd, 3-0 White Sox
Crede: Homers to left center (0-0 count), (meat pitch), Konerko, Dye, Crede score 6-0 White Sox, subbed Bedard with Walker due to my 5 run house rule for starters
Pierzynski: singles to right (1-2 count)
Uribe: singles to right center 0-1 count, ****MY PITCHING STAFF SUCKS*****
Anderson: struck out looking (2-2 count) Thank god!!!!!

Gibbons: grounded out to 3rd (3-2 count)
Millar: strikes out swinging (0-2 count)
Patterson: grounds out to 2nd (0-2 count)

Well, that's all for now. Really awesome sliders man, everything felt so real. I need to work on my zone pitching and stop hacking after getting that first strike on me. Great job man!!!! I'll definately be using these for my season.

I've been waiting for your new updated sliders. I have only played a few games but my initial reaction is that the CPU hits a lot better....maybe too good now.

My take is that the CPU can never hit "too good". If you make the right pitches when you are supposed to make them and locate them right, the cpu won't hit that good. I like them just where they are at. If you lower the contact or power any more, it's back to the CPU not scoring at all again. Just my opinion.

Well thats what I was trying to accomplish with these sliders. If you are using Payoff Pitching then this is the way to go, if you miss your spot or leave one out over they plate the CPU should hit you hard, but not a HR all the time. Keep the feedback coming guys if anything stands out that might need change let me know and I will take a look at it.

I think the human power needs dropped, all my hits with the O's are either homers or doubles in the gap. Maybe drop the reaction time of the AI infielders to allow more hits through the holes if you drop the power.

Dan...you know I loved your first set of sliders...but these...not sure yet.

I only played one game...so I am not ruling anything out but...

                    I just played Yanks (me) v. Red Sox...Wang v. Dice K

First inning, I was up 4-0 with 5 hits...they scored 3 in the bottom.

Ulitimately lost 10-9 on a 2 on 0 out Crisp hit off Rivera.

the totals were 17 hits each...only 2 HRs. Lots of doubles and 3 triples.

What have you guys seen? this could have just been one of those Yanks/Sox games...but I will give them another try. FYI..I only used 30 as my power..45 seems ways to high. I think contact is too high also.

                    thoughts?

Try a game thats not the Yanks vs Boston. Games between those two teams are always out of control. You cannot create or test sliders with those two teams involved because it seems you always have to lower the sliders. Then when you play a game with the average teams there is no hitting.

Wish I could High Heat but there aren't any sliders for AI Reaction Time.

I made 2 changes guys Human Power to 50 and AI Fatigue to 50. Also for people that are using Zone Pitching I addede a slider setting for that under Pitch Interface Speed it should be at 80 for Zone Pitching.

i really liked these so far, i changed the computer contact to 50, but that might go back to 45, it depends, coz I was playing arizona, and they suck, but they beat me 5-4 in a thriller, which is tough to get. I like this a lot, keep up the good work my friend!

Thanks, Ronny contact at 50 might be to much it seems like 45 is the sweet spot for contact and 55 is for Power at 50 they dont punish you enough for pitches left over the plate and at 60 they hit almost anything over the plate for a HR. Let me know how your next few games go.
