I also haven't really experienced (m)any extra base hits or deep fly balls without using the left stick since the power settings are so low.

I'm at work now but I'l try out your sliders without using the left stick when i get home. I'm curious to see if i will be getting accurate numbers of HRs and extra base hits as well as balls batted to the left or right thirds of the field.

Thanks for the slider help! Much appriciated.

The reason I dont like the Left Stick is I hate not having the suprise of hitting a HR, I feel like if I hold up with the left stick and blast one its so anitclimatic. Because you were trying to hit a HR. With Power at 50 and not using the Left Stick you will hit HRs, shots off the walls, doubles in the gaps, pretty much every kind of hit. But the difference is its more of a suprise now, then okay I'm going to try to jack one out.

DanSF49: I agree with you 100% about the lack of suprise involved with the left stick.

I was playing as Oakland last night against Anaheim and had a man on 1st and 3rd. Piazza was up to bat (keep in mind Piazza isn't a power stud or anything...he has hit 22, 23, and 21 HRs the last 3 seasons). I had an even count and wanted to get the ball in the air to avoid the double play and hopefully get it deep for a sac fly. As soon as the pitch was thrown i knew it was a pitch i could hit (in the zone, yet not a meat pitch or anything)...so i pushed up on the left stick and, well, goodbye...jacked a HR to left center. I actually said "oops" after I hit it. This happens way too often. It basically felt like i was cheating.

So, in conclusion, I'm done with the left stick.

Correct with the power at 50 and not using the L stick I still only hit 2 hrs last night in my 2 games. With power at 0 and using the L stick I hit about 4 or 5 a game.

I am loving these sliders too, but I am teetering with a few of the sliders. Like the AI contact, at 45, I am not seeing enough offense out of the AI, when I put it to 50, there are a few more hits, but it makes you pitch a lot better, IMO. I also raised the AI throw strike slider to 40 from 35, and still messing with user contact, just trying to get an awesome array of hits and AI offense.

Are you guys getting different types of games as well? High scoring blow-outs for both user and cpu? 2-1 or 1-0 Pitching duels? 3-3 ties in the ninth that get decided in the last at-bat?

You must be alot better at zone pitching then me.
I really struggle getting outs with an average to below average pitcher, just like it should be.
The cpu has no problems at all scoring against me unless I am pitching me a dominant pitcher.

One last question - have any of you played games where neither team has hit a home run?

The least i've had was 1 HR once in a game but that was while using the left stick and power at 0. Granted the game was at RFK which is cavernous. I can't speak for these sliders but I'm gonna try it out tonight.

I've actually had 3 games in a row with 0 HR's for either side.

I use payoff, i don't use zone, is that what everyone is using now?

I know that is what the sliders in this thread use.
I tried the zone pitching for the first time last night and I loved it.
Like I stated earlier I actually walked about 4 batters per game. And I even hit a couple batters.
To me payoff pitching is just way too easy, even with bad pitchers I can hit any spot I want to. You can really tell a difference when pitching with average or below average pitchers when using zone pitching.

I started with Payoff but I think Zone is the way to go now. I actually threw a wild pitch over the catchers head last night, I was in shock. The only thing is you have to take the Interface Speed down to like 80 or so because at 100 throw 1 meat pitch after another.
