    HH's tweaked sliders.

My House Rules for Batting: (Swing Stick)

-Can only use power swing when the AI throws a meat pitch at anytime (Even 1-0, 2-0, 3-0 counts). That's the only time I allow myself to press up on the swing stick. The rest of the time it must be pull and release tactic.
    - Must wait until the AI throws one strike in the count to swing, unless it's a meat pitch as stated above. I've had 2 so far that the CPU didn't throw down the gut on 3-0, it is rare though, then I do will not swing. This works the pitcher's pitch total. I had Rich Harden of the A's throw 102 pitches in 7 1/3 innings in one game that was a 6-3 loss, and Kenny Rogers throw 108 today in 8 1/3 innings in a 3-1 loss to the Tigers.

My House Rules for Pitching: (I use Zone Pitching 1)

Zone or Payoff pitching - ***** I now use a deck of cards to determine my every pitch. Sounds crazy, but adds intriging situations to the game. Ex: I have 4 pitches available in a clockwise position, (fastball, slider, change up, and curve) an ace, 5, 9, or King would culminate in a fastball, a 2, 6, 10, or Joker would culminate in the slider and so on. I know it's cheesy, but I do this now to keep me from throwing the same pitch all the time in certain situations. I still select my own location and it adds to the challenge of pitching for me. I know I'll take some ribbing for this one.

-only one pickoff attempt per at bat, I've actually gotten a couple with diveback at 100.

Starters can go as long as they want unless they give up either of the following:

-5 earned runs (not total runs) and I trail by 2 or more runs at the time my pitcher gives up the 5th earned run. If not losing by 2 or more runs, can continue until that point is reached or the following below:
    -10 hits
-tied or losing after 7th inning
-25% fatigue if tied or losing
-15% fatigue if winning and not throwing a shutout
-after one of the above, I must take him out at that moment and bring in a reliever.

Relievers can go a maximum of 3 innings for long relievers and 2 innings for middle, setups and closers, or one of the following:

-3 earned runs or 6 hits for long relievers
-2 earned runs or 5 hits for middle, setups, and closers
-after one of the above, the player must be removed at that moment and I must bring in a new pitcher. Make sure you have another pitcher warming up.

How many games have you played using these sliders ?? What is the avg. score per game and avg no. of HR's, your pitchers' strikeouts, etc. ??

Hey man, sorry for the late reply. I've played probably in the neighborhood of 50+ games with various sliders, I'm constantly tweaking to get the right feeling and I think I'm there. I've been experimenting more with nnng's sliders to get the feel for my batting and pitching. I give up an average of 5+ runs a game. My 1, 2 starters seem to pitch well, but my 3,4,5 starters, I have to take a lot off the pitch in the later innings to be effective, as the meter runs fast on the zone pitching interface, but that's a part of the game I love, working out of jams.

My pitchers give up maybe 1 to 2 homers a game. I believe I have the contact/power at 55/50 to be just about as perfect as it can be. Anything higher than 50 for power and it turns into a homerun derby with zone pitching, and anything lower than 55 contact, the AI doesn't seem to produce. Strikeouts are hard to come by, but it's a must to slow up pitches, not always put full power in to them and mix up the eye level. I average 3-4 a game with an effective starter. The beauty is when you get the AI looking on a 3-2 heater or breaking ball.

        Re: HH's tweaked sliders.

Made many changes based off of nnng's excellent sliders. Hope you all enjoy and have a good gaming experience with these. I think it's about the best we all can do on this game. Looking forward to using these throughout my season and would love any feedback from these. Please play at least a few games before leaving any feedback, as games vary.

I think you guys will like what I did with the new take ball/strike/overall sliders. Here are the starting pitcher stats and box score from my most recent Orioles game.

              E. Bedard(me) 6.0 IP 92 pitches, 31 balls, 61 strikes
              J. Santana(cpu) 7.1 IP 98 pitches, 32 balls, 66 strikes

              Box Score:

              BAL - 2 0 0 0 0 1 1 0 0 - 4 runs, 9 hits, 2 errors
              MIN - 0 3 2 0 0 0 0 1 X - 6 runs, 13 hits, 1 error

              Hitting:

Bal: 5 singles, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run

LOL, the strange thing is some of the HR's I did not use the power swing.
there is one game I did not post here cause was to embarrassed to post it
I was playing against NYM and the the 2nd they was up 10-0 lol Delgado
hit like 3 hr's and everyother player was hitting some hard shots, but in real
life there are alway games like that once in a while, over all I like these
                              sliders tho.
